BBC iPlayer - playback issue

since getting this over a week ago, it pauses playback every few seconds then plays again for a few and then pauses again etc etc...

I'm assuming this means my download speed isnt good enough to support iPlayer for it to work properly.

However my speed is more then adequate to watch BBC Replay thru BT or any on demand stuff thru BT.

Shouldnt they both expect the same download speed..

My concern being the following BT/BBC statement...

"Can I still view BBC content through TV Replay if I have BBC iPlayer?
Yes, you will still have access to the existing 50 hours of BBC Replay programmes through the TV Replay section while we upgrade all BT Vision customers to BBC iPlayer.
After then, you'll only be able to access BBC content through BBC iPlayer. "

Has it been officially released for you ?. Does your EPG actually say BBC iplayer ?.

I have the same issue. Yes it has been released, channel 990, I was notified, but it is unusable. Nothing wrong with my Broadband, I watch iPlayer on the PC all the time perfectly. The BT VIsion one is clearly broken, I have emailed them direct.

The first few time I used iPlayer it stuttered terribly - but pausing it for a few seconds filled the buffer and it settled down to finish the programmes with no more stuttering. After a few days it stopped stuttering at all - perhaps the exchange equipment needs 'training' into your QoS requirements.

I would say that the controls to wind forward/back are quirky and don't work well - especially compared with VOD and recording payback - and even with iPlayer on our TV. The implementation of the iPlayer (up to the point of trying to FF/FR) is however very smooth and a pleasure to use IMHO.

I've a different glitch: I was watching the Apprentice - it got around 40 minutes through then went black and returned to the menu. It's done that one two separate episodes.

Annoyingly it didn't remember where I'd got to so playing again took it back to the beginning. This is then followed by several minutes trying to find the place again.

Hopefully the glitches will be resolved soon if they're going to replace Replay.

I have had similar problems with BT's BBC iplayer on C990. It plays and will stutter and has stopped completely on more than one occasion, it works more often than not though. Mind you if I use my Sony Bravia internet TV's BBC iplayer through Sonys app even via high quality setting it has never let me down and the quality is equal IMO to BT's c990 version
