I have quite a lot of DVDs, which I no longer watch but I want to "file" them away on a portable hard drive and watch them sometime for future reference, I knowyou can now copy them to a hard drive and watch them on my tv using a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2 Media player, but I am unsure if it is any good or not, so does anyone have one of these and can you tell me if they are any good and if so what is the best format to use on my dvds ie .wmv or .avi etc thanks a lot in anticipation bbuk

you dont need a dedicated player like that now

my TV will play from a hard drive and access the files via ethernet , and I can use my xbox as well . DVD players and other devices can do the same now

I use Divx or AVI and use a great free programme called ' freemake '

http://www.freemake.com/

it does loads of file types and easy to use

My tv does not have a USB port, I can only access the files via my HDMI cable so I am unsure what you mean via ethernet as my tv is not internet accessible either, so that is why I was interested in the Media Player? so any other person using this player?
