Well blow me down, I didn't actually think of that
I've actually got it working though.
Properly working. Full Gnome 3 in full 1440x900 resolution with the 'official' ATI Drivers.
It's still a tad glitchy - it was glitching out completely to the point it just blew up the menu and I had to reboot.
Enabled "tear free" mode in the Catalyst Control Centre and it's resolved that issue.
I need to play around with the graphics to see if the driver is properly working though - in system info it still tells me the driver is VESA.
Firefox theme is also a bit wanky as well (is that a word? It is now !

). The Echofon plugin I have for Twitter glitches and appears transparent a lot.
But. Finally. As it stands. It works
