Dunno if you have all seen, but
Ubuntu intends to roll its own display manager. Like, this is just what the Linux eco-system needs. More fragmentation. I would absolutely love to hear what Valve thinks of this.

Hi dude, thanks for this. She doesn't use Chrome at all (we're all staunch Firefox fans here), and I may try your other suggestion. To be honest I'm getting rather fed up with Ubuntu and Linux, and am seriously considering moving back to Windows permanently. More later...
