Panasonic have a range of Freeview and Freesat twin tuner recorders, they are not cheap. To record HD (in HD) to an optical disc you need a blu-ray recorder. DVD recorders only record SD content. You can record an HD programme but it has to be downscaled to SD.

Unless you have a compelling reason for recording to disk then you would probably get better value for money with a PVR. If you want twin tuners to let you watch one channel while recording a different one you will be spending serious money for a DVD/Blu-Ray recorder compared to a PVR.

Humax's Freesat and Freeview twin tuner HD pvrs will play back mp3s (and jpg photos). You can always transfer SD content by usb to a PC to burn DVD's (much quicker than real time recording to a DVDR)
