HDMI black screen

I have a radeon 5700 which has been connected to a panasonic TV with no problems until recently.

I disconnected the hdmi cable from the TV and plugged it into another monitor (with a hdmi to dvi adapter) and this worked fine.

Since plugging the HDMI cable back into the TV it no longer gives me a picture (or audio) I just get a black screen. CCC detects the panasonic so I know a connection has been made, I have it set to duplicate the desktop and have cycled thorugh every possible resolution and refresh rate with no joy.

I have bought a new cable, unsinstalled the gfx card software and drivers, switched everything off for 15 mins, tried another HDMI port....but still nothing.

Strangely when the PC boots up the TV automatically switches from DTV to HDMI as if its found a new external signal but the screen stays black.

Any ideas whats causing the problem?
