There's no denying that, but I don't think talkSPORT will be devastated given that they've still managed to draw plenty of "big team" v "big team" games. Newcastle United v Arsenal is a good commentary to start their season with and Tottenham v Manchester City, Tottenham v Liverpool, Chelsea v Everton, Manchester City v Aston Villa and of course Manchester United v Manchester City are all very attractive commercially.
That they have the latter three games, plus two Liverpool matches and the business end of the Rugby World Cup during October makes that a very strong month all-round for the station. I'd guess they were hoping for some good games during that month to compliment their live rugby coverage, in order to retain any new listeners tuning in for the rugby later in the day, which is what they've got.
I think the biggest source of frustration for talkSPORT is that, of the four Premier League games moved to early kick-off times for reasons other than television, three of them have been moved to a Saturday 12noon start rather than a Sunday. Sunderland v Newcastle United (20/7), Aston Villa v Wolves (27/7) and Everton v Manchester United (29/10) would have all been appealing games for talkSPORT had they been moved to a Sunday, particularly the first and last of those fixtures seeing as the station does not have a Sunday commentary game at all during those weekends.

At a guess, I see no reason why things wouldn't stay as they are at the moment. At 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, their three-way regional FM split with Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham commentaries going out to different areas of the country with an Around the Grounds show that sometimes incorporates rugby union commentary on AM works really well in my opinion. Then on Sundays and in midweek, games are mostly broadcast on AM anyway are they not, so it's not as if they'd been changing what they have always done now that the Swans are in the Premier League?
It'll be interesting to see what they do when Swansea games are in the Saturday 5.30pm slot - put them on FM locally and keep a more general post-match round-up on AM, maybe then taking the second half live on AM, or stick the game wholly on AM. What has happened in the past when Cardiff and Swansea have been involved in Saturday teatime Championship games for TV?
I don't think talkSPORT have huge grounds for complaints here really (not that I think they'll be that bothered about this, to be blunt), I can just about pick up the 882am Radio Wales signal in the West Midlands but ordinarily I find it doesn't travel that well, certainly not as well as talkSPORT's 1089am South-East/North-West relay did in the days when they carried regional commentaries.
