Man City v Fulham Nigel Adderley (I think)
Birmingham v Swansea Chris Dennis (with Mike Sewell, drafted in to replace Jacqui Oatley - ill, and Kevin Blackwell commentating on Sports Extra)
Cardiff v Blackpool Andy Gillies (with Alistair Durden (replacing Mike Sewell - see above -and Chris Hargreaves commentating on Sports Extra)
R/U: Scotland v England Alistair Eykyn, Ian Robertson with Gavin Hastings and Matt Dawson (commentary) - painful listening for me driving through the snow showers yesterday)
Can anybody confirm the other reporters please plus the IRN line-up?

Alistair Yoemans was at City
Nigel Adderly was at Wigan judging by Twitter

Which would place Peter Slater at Stoke by default. A more than realistic venue for Peter to be at

That rings a bell, bwcol. I don't think my other half would have appreciated my switching on the light and writing down the reporters while driving through the snow showers on the M1.

Peter is based in Sheffield (ish) so he is generally in Yorks, North West or North East.

Alan Green is going to do AC Milan vs Arsenal

Fair play 5Live for doing Sheff Weds vs Blackpool on Tuesday, no one would blame them for just reporting on the 2 replays on Tuesday

These the only one's I have heard so far.

Arsenal v Blackburn Elliot Cook
QPR v Wolves Andrew Cheal
Chelsea v Man Utd Andrew Cheal

I assume Alistair Ross would have been at Newcastle v Aston Villa . I will have a listen back later.

I think Guy Swindells may have covered Norwich v Bolton. Thanks JPM1980

On the subject off BBC cuts. BBC Radio Manchester did not send their own reporter to Hull v Warrington in Super League. They took reports from Ray French who did commentary on BBC Radio Merseyside.

Guy Swindells was reporting on Norwich v Bolton for Today FM, so it's unlikely he'll have covered it for IRN as well but they have been known to share reporters on occasion. I'll check the Newstalk archive and post a full list from Saturday.

EDIT: I've listened and posted the details below; turns out you were right and he did double up after all. I guess this would be the case as there aren't many national radio sports reporters based in East Anglia for the likes of Today FM to call upon. I can only think of Kev Lawrence from talkSPORT.

I was right in my initial decision to hold back, as I was going to post yesterday that *I think/thought* Rob Nothman was a reporter at the early West Ham United V Millwall game, until after listening to Radio Cymru whilst at Cardiff City stadium yesterday, thinking he was at Queens Park Rangers v Wolverhampton Wanderers.

IRN even used Tom Parker (usually North-West) at Norwich earlier this season (Norwich v Stoke on Matchday 2).

Grahame Lloyd, normally talkSPORT's Humberside correspondent, covered Norwich's home game against Chelsea for Today FM the weekend before last (January 21st). Lloyd occasionally commentates for BBC Radio Wales so he gets around a bit but it was the first time I've heard him on Today FM. I guess he is at least closer geographically to Norfolk than most so is a logical choice.

I think Grahame covered a few Norwich home games for talkSPORT while Kev Lawrence was busy covering games in London while Andrew McKenna and Mike Bovill were away at the Rugby World Cup in the autumn. Sam Fleet is another reporter who's gained a fair bit of work (talkSPORT, IRN and Today FM) out of a promotion, in his case that of Swansea City, due to being an available freelancer in that area.

Actually, having given this far too much thought than I should (the conclusion of Fenerbahce v Besiktas wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped), Carrow Road is probably about as far away for Kev Lawrence - who is based in Peterborough - as it is for Grahame Lloyd, who I believe may be based near Boston given that he wrote a book about Boston United's spell in the Football League a few years ago. Having consulted Google Maps, it would take them both the best part of two hours to get there by road. Some trip for a "local" match! In fact it is probably quicker for Kev to get to and from some of the West Midlands grounds he is occasionally sent to than it is for him to get to Ipswich or Norwich and back.

I think I'm right in saying that Radio 5 Live don't have an East Anglian correspondent and in any case they generally don't assign their commentators and reporters based on geography, so it will be at best just as much of a long trip for whichever members of their team get sent to Carrow Road or Portman Road of a weekend.

He was at West Ham because he did a post-match report for Final Score. I know the postponed racing meant John Hunt was at a match for Five Live as I remember John Murray introducing him. Unfortunately I can't remember which one.

Monday 6th February - talkSPORT

Mark Saggers presenting Kick-Off alongside Stan Collymore

Premier League
Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur - Graham Beecroft

Listening to BBC WM's revamped Football Phone-In show at the moment, which is airing in its new timeslot of 6-7pm for the first time. Drivetime and Saturday Sport host Paul Franks is presenting and he has been joined in the studio by former Walsall, Wolves and Republic of Ireland striker David Kelly. Franksy will be joined by Steve Froggatt tomorrow and Richard Sneekes, Geoff Horsfield and Martin O'Connor later in the week. Each member of this quintet will be guesting once a week from now on. It isn't greatly different to the 7-8pm Football Phone-In, although Franksy has his own straight-to-the-point manner and the presence of a pundit seems to be keeping the phone-in on the topic of current developments at WM's clubs rather than drifting down memory lane as certain callers on the later show liked to do.

Where has Ian Brown been recently? (again) Anyone know when his last match commentary was? He was off air for a long time in 2009/10 but returned late in that season for a much more scaled down role.

I would - the BBC can't buy exclusive commentary rights to a competition which a rival station has shown an interest in and then choose not to use these rights fully in order to do (presumably) a studio-based football discussion programme instead. Not meaning to gripe at Radio 5 Live here, I just don't think they should be praised for doing something they should be expected to do.

If you want to praise the BBC perhaps this would be better directed at their decision to put commentary on Hearts v Celtic onto Sports Extra tomorrow night. 5 Live rarely do SPL commentaries outwith the four Old Firm games, yet they provided excellent coverage of the Christmas Day programme and this is another welcome move. It will be interesting to see whether Sports Extra take BBC Radio Scotland's commentary or if they provide one of their own.

Too true. I suspect though that they'll do their own commentary (Roddy Forsyth and Andy Gillies, probably) - it's always puzzled me why though. Especially since David Begg - when he's on - is one of the best radio commentators around.

Birmingham City v Portsmouth - Rob Gurney

It's not the first time this season that WM haven't been able to do commentary on a standalone midweek Blues game, this happened a couple of weeks ago as well. At a guess, I'd say WM must have a quota of how many Birmingham (home) games they are able to do commentary on over the course of a season, as had been the case with Aston Villa and Wolves in previous seasons.
