Thanks for posting the bulk of the details from today's Matchday Live, Ian.

I have a few additions to your list - Graham Courtney was talkSPORT's pitchside reporter at Newcastle United v Arsenal with 'Villa' Matt Smith producing their live match coverage and Call Collymore from St James' Park in the absence of Dave Earl.

In other sports, David Brady reported on France v Ireland in the rugby union, Jack Bannister covered England v India in the cricket and Bob Bubka is in Atlanta for the US PGA Championship golf.

Sunday 14th August - Beacon (Black Country) and Gold (Birmingham)

Tom Ross presenting The Goalzone from The Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United - Tom Ross and Tony Brown (4pm commentary)

BBC WM

Adrian Goldberg presenting a Birmingham Peace Rally Special from Summerfield Park, Winson Green, followed by WM Sport with Daz Hale from The Hawthorns

Premier League
West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United - Mark Regan and Daz Hale (4pm commentary)

Time for me to hold my hands up - when BBC WM's ditched their plans to carry reports on Walsall v Middlesbrough during their coverage of the Birmingham riots on Tuesday night (which, to be fair, Tuesday's presenter Mike Taylor apologised for on Twitter), I speculated on here that they wouldn't have done something like that had a match been taking place involving one of the four "big" clubs in the area.

Today they've proved me wrong and to be honest I'm really impressed that they're prepared to put coverage of a significant local event expected to be attended by thousands of people ahead of a live football commentary, which as of last night they were planning to broadcast in full. Apparently they are still planning to do commentary, but only as soon as the Peace Rally has finished which might well be at some point during the first half.

They'll probably lose a number of Baggies-supporting listeners to Beacon, Gold and Radio 5 Live this afternoon but I applaud them for prioritising local events and providing a service no other station can, not just when Walsall are playing but when one of their well-supported teams are in action as well.

Thanks for posting those details Ian. Judging by Facebook, I think George Andrews is also involved in their coverage today, perhaps as a presenter, producer or reporter. It wouldn't surprise me if they are also be taking talkSPORT's reports on pitchside activies from Dave Rowe, who commentated on the FA Cup Final for them in May.

Pleased to hear that Simon Humphreys has got the commentary gig, he's one of talkSPORT's finest reporters in my opinion and actually came their way after a spell reporting on Stoke games for Signal. Nice for him to go full circle as it were.

I think BBC WM would have been rightly hammered had they stuck with football over the local riots
