I bought a book for 50p years ago and it is brilliant for these drinks.
Here are a few: Apple Crush: 175g Strawberries 1/4 pint of freshly pressed apple juice Remove the hulls from the strawberries, then wash and pat dry with kitchen paper. Put on a tray and freeze for about 40 minutes until firm Put the frozen strawberries into the blender and pour in the juice. Blend until smooth and slushy, pour into glass and decorate if you wish with the strawberry leaves ![]() Blue Orange 175G Blueberries 2 Medium Oranges 1-2 tsp maple syrup and some ice cubes Wash and pat dry the blueberries with kitchen paper, put the berries in the blender. Peel the oranges removing as much as the white pith as possible. Chop the flesh roughly, getting rid of any pips, and put into the blender Blend for a few seconds until smooth, taste and add the maple syrup. Put ice in a large glass and pour in the smoothie. Gingery Watermelon 250g watermelon 125g red seedless grapes 1cm piece of fresh root ginger Ice Cubes Peel the melon and remove the seeds and roughly chop the flesh, then put in the blender. Wash and pat the grapes dry with kitchen paper and add to the blender. Peel the ginger and chop roughly. Add to the blender whizz for a few seconds until smooth. Pour over ice in a large glass, voila. Cranberry and Mango Smoothie 1 Ripe Mango 250ml cranberry juice 150g natural yoghurt Peel and roughly chop the mango, put in the blender with the cranberry juice, blend for a minute. Add the yoghurt and blend until smooth then pour into glasses. Probably not extremely healthy some of these but they are delicious. |

If you are looking for alcoholic drinks how about:
Sea Breeze 1 pink grapefruit 125g Frozen Cranberries 100ml chilled vodka A few ice cubes 300ml pink Lemonade Cut off the peel of the grapefruit, removing as much as the white pith as possible, chop the flesh roughly (get rid of the pips) and put in the blender. Add the frozen cranberries and the vodka and blend until smooth and crushed. Pour into two glasses and add a few ice cubes, top up with the pink lemonade to taste. Pineapple and Mint Julep 12 Mint leaves 2 tsp icing sugar 100ml bourbon 200g Pineapple 300g crushed ice Wash the mint leaves and shake dry, then put in the base of a jug. Add the Icing sugar and crush the leaves in the sugar using a spoon. Pour in the bourbon and set aside. Peel and core the pineapple, chop roughly and put into the blender. Blend until smooth. Stir the pineapple in with the minted bourbon then stir in the crushed ice and put in glasses I don't drink but others have like them before now. |
