Nokia 3310 Text Messaging

I have a Nokia 3310 and whenever I send a text message it always sends it twice instead of once. I do press it once so I expect it to send once but it doesn't.

Why is this?

Has anyone else experienced this?

It might be a network problem.. I've occasionally received the same message more than once (a few months back I got the same message about 7 times from a friend on Vodafone). What network are you on? Maybe some users on that network will be experiencing the same...

I have a 3310 with Virgin and have only noticed now that the total characters has gone down to 201 instead of 459 and that you can now only use 70 characters before it charges you for 2 messages.

Am wondering if anyone else has noticed this with any other network or is it just with Virgin?
