Sheesh.”

I think it would serve them right if she won the whole thing, there would be a lot of red faces if she did.

I'm fuming. Absolutely appalling decision. She makes me cringe so much. David and Karen were a million times better.

It sounded like about 4 different tunes played at once .. she was out of tune and out of time ... and I'm not sure how much was her playing or backiing tracks or rhythms already set on the organ playing itself

just noise

If you like magic, I personally find it a bore. Jean got the best reaction of the night and for good reason.

She seems a nice lady and made me smile but WTF was she playing? How much was she playing herself? Surely It must take more talent to do what Karen and David did than to bash the keyboard and grin a lot like a Little Britain character.
Pathetic.

I dont mind people saying she cant play but this nasty name calling is bang out of order - old bag? witch? why because she is over 30??

In this yoof culture we have now we seem to equate talent in women by the size of their plastic boobs or the ability to prance around half naked with their legs akimbo showing the world parts of their anatomy which should be the preserve of their partners or their gyneacologists (sp?)

Jean IMO is a very very classy lady, and she looked wonderful hair and makeup immaculate - if I look like her when I am nearly 60 I will be well pleased.

So please if you dont like her playing and feel the magicians were robbed you have every right to say so but lay off the old bag and witch comments as it aint nice

So they didnt want to put two great solo dancers into the semis because they thought it would split the vote, yet they put two pianists through to the final?

To be honest I though it was Matt Lucas as Marjory Dawes on a wind up

Lovely kid singers and they had worked hard and did very well.
However, I am enjoying the variety of acts and talents on BGT more than the singers and dancer troupes which we already see a lot of on TV.
The public voted and so far there are four musical acts in the final. But I liked Jean and Paul's playing and voted for both of them.
Hopefully we will see two different type of acts go through to the final after tonight's show.

To be fair, it was the public that put them through (Paul definitely and Jean probably)

Maybe im in the minority here, but i loved 'Two and a half men' and i liked the magic act. I am gutted that neither of them got through.

I liked Jean and she made me smile, but we now have enough singers and musicians. Time for a little more variety to be put through to the final or it will be a VERY boring saturday night.

Im glad i wasnt the only one who thought this, OK she is a lovely talented women etc but the magic act deserved to go through!!

Well done to Jean for getting through. For me she was far more entertaining and upbeat and I think the judges made the right choice.

I don't often agree with these "wrong decision" arguments, but I've got to agree with you here. The magic act was innovative & entertaining. Jean was like one of those annoying wind-up dolls that you can't turn off. If she put less effort into grinning like a Cheshire cat and more effort into playing the keyboard properly (without running her fingers over the keys every 10 seconds), I might just get the appeal.

It was a poor night overall, but all credit to those kids as they had clearly worked a helluva lot since their audition. I wasn't expecting much from them, but I really enjoyed their act, and I think they deserved to go through.

It's not always about being absolutely perfect at your 'skill'. That's way too boring.”

She failed miserably on both imo. Someone who hits dud notes regularly is not an exceptional keyboard player, and the over-jolly personality came across as fake.

I have seen that illision done so many times there is even a you tube video of the self same trick being performed on Australias Got Talent two years ago, its nothing new and certainly not innovative - just a rehash of a fairly standard trick

Boom Boom
Have to agree with the "wrong decision" thoughts too, I was smiling at Jean's act (MM bobbing his head was funny) But no way was she more talented than the magic act or the hand dancers/table slappers.
Ridiculous decision

I judge talent by at least being able to play in time. That she was unable to do. simple as that!

The illusion act had timing and great performance in great amounts.

Those are the facts and reveal why people are annoyed.

No, I disagree. These are not facts but opinions. The true fact of the matter is that magicians on this show are not popular with the judges or particularly well received by the public. Therefore, in order to be successful, a magic act needs to be something a bit special.
Nice though it was to see magicians for a change, David and Karen were not really up to scratch IMO.
They had built up the act beforehand saying that it was one the most dangerous acts they have ever attempted and then disappointed us all by performing a trick as old as magic itself.
There were many ways in which they could have achieved this illusion and they chose to go with the easiest rather than the more impressive method - I think this was probably the real reason the public didn't take to them as much as they'd hoped. The main attraction of magic is to either entrigue the audience with something new or puzzle them into thinking "how did they do that?", they achieved neither.
The performance was a little disjointed and underwhelming, and the error at the end sort of gave away any remaining mystique that might have remained. You could tell by David and Karen's faces at the end that even they knew it hadn't gone well.
I hope the above doesn't sound too harsh - They have definitely got potential (they did after all come 3rd), its just that there is still a lot of room for improvement and I think it was the right decision not to put them through.

like i said elsewhere it was a joke

shes like a granny on acid

and she cant pla all that well if you really listen to her shes out of time for most of it

saying magicians are old hat is ridiculous

Mrs Mills played out of time with the backing and that clearly exposes a lack of talent in her chosen act - That is a fact! (Not an opinion!)

Some complain about things not being fact, and only opinion then post drivel like "You could tell by David and Karen's faces at the end that even they knew it hadn't gone well."

No one else saw that.

If the magic act had ended with Jean handcuffed and locked in the box

Then they have an act....

Although Jean's act was terrible, I thought the "magic" trick was easily explained (like the top of the box having a human sized hole in it) so dunno why they were so amazed by it, the trick they did in the auditions was better.
