Rewatched his 1/2 final on YT (didnt see all of it the first time) and he was awful! He was totally out of tune (in fact he seemed to be singing a totally different song to the backing track)
He wasn't even playing his guitar (didnt look like it) - did any of the judges mention this?
I think he seemed quite emotional to be up there though

I actually thought he had no chance of winning the show, maybe because he's 66 that Simon didn't buzz him.

Agreed he was terrible last night

I can't believe that Enchanted were buzzed and this guy got off scot free. He was dreadful, he absolutely murdered Mandy.

He should have been buzzed by all four Judges.

And told to get off.

I agreed with Amanda when she said she didn't recognise the song till he actually sang Mandy itself

He might be a little hard of hearing and couldn't hear the backing track.

Enchanted were incoherent but much better than Herbie - the guy in Enchanted has a great voice.

It was a bit of a strange performance and also a bit strange that the judges didn't give him any negative comments.

Saying that though I think maybe they didn't want to add insult to injury so I can't blame them for that.

There were loads of things you could say about his performance like how his voice completely cracked part way through but again at the end of the day he did his performance on live tv in front of millions and now it's over and he didn't get through.

The judges and the show have become a law unto themselves though like saying that Herbie was great and also blaming Hasslehoff for bringing Lorna Bliss back - what will they say/do next that is a load of cobblers?

He's been a professional musician for decades, I can't see how he even got through. Not to mention that he was awful.
