Judges holding hands?

One of the things which annoys me about BGT is how the judges all hold hands when walking down the stairs at the beginning.

It makes a mockery of the idea that they are fearsome judges who have massive amounts of control with their red buzzers. It actually reminds me of primary school where we had to hold hands when lining up in the playground.

It's so Amanda doesn't trip on her dress/fall down the stairs.

Michael and The Hoff held each other's hand when they came down the stairs last night.

I wonder if they'll do that again tonight?

like someone said up there, its to help Amanda down the stairs in her heels and dress

Most relatively thoughtful (or image concious like Simon) men tend to hold the hand or offer support to a woman in heels. May just be my experience, but every time I'm going downstairs in heels and I'm with a bloke, he offers me his support... mind, most of the time I am rather drunk and trying to make my way out of a club... maybe Amanda just gets wasted before Live Shows, could explain a lot.

I can reason with Simon and Amanda, but as ThisGeneration said, Michael and David also held hands yesterday.

Does anyone else not think that it's a bit childish?

What's wrong with it? I think it's a good thing that the judges are friends, it makes it a lot more enjoyable to watch opposed to something as garish as the X Factor, which is constantly uncomfortable having to watch the frosty reception between the judges.

I think they were just having a laugh, otherwise all four would be holding hands in a chain.

maybe its a H&S thing. Theres probably a reason why they cut away to a wide shot as they negotiate the stairs.

Without a bannister walking down stairs in heels is tricky and even guys wouldnt be able to do it gracefully

They didn't do it yesterday, I didn't see.

But still, what's the point of the thread?

Yep they were holding hands.

I wanted to know whether it was just myself who thought that the judges looked very immature holding hands.
