Singers must be banned.

The x factor is where trashy wannabe singers should be. They are ruining bgt and causing some proper unique talent to go out as forgotten semi finalists. D&k, 2&1/2men, joe oakley deserve to be in the final instead of jls2, the feminine 12 year old and a loopy granny.

It depends on what type of singer. I couldn't exactly see the likes of Susan Boyle on X Factor. And indeed during the last series of X Factor, a lot of people were saying Mary should be on BGT.

The acts who got the most votes from the BRITISH public deserve to be in the final. Wether you like them or not is a different matter.

I don't know about banning anyone, but the focus of the whole thing should be looked at as everyone is not given equality when it comes to the judges.

The whole premise of this show is to pick someone for the Royal Variety Show, but if you are a Variety act, you stand no chance on this show and Simon is just abusing it to find a music act that he can make money from.

Then again, the X factor is meant to be about finding someone with the X Factor and all we get on that are singers as well.

The trouble is that all these shows have the same agenda and it is not what the title of the show makes out it to be.

This show should be about a Variety act but it isn't. There is the problem.

what a silly thread to start, just because the OPs acts of choice never went through they want singers banned.
acts have gone through that i dont like but your right loobs, their there because the public picked up the phones and voted.
half the people who rant and rave because "their act" didnt go through probably never even voted.

Well it's a little unfair on the younger singers because they can't enter The X Factor if they're under 18
Although, I didn't like Ronan or New Bounce so I sort of agree with you! I liked Wobbie

They should do a christmas show where the top 3 X factor placements compete against the top 3 Britains got talent placements to find the ultimate winner for the year.

There are so many kids that want to become singers, and many of them use BGT, as they don't want to go on X Factor as not only are they too young, but they don't want to have to wait and be up against many better singers. For instance, I'm 13 and I'm going to audition next year and even if the age limit is down, I wouldn't go for X Factor, as the opinion is more mixed on BGT and it's not heavily based on music.

I think it depends on the type of singer. Someone who plays and writes their own music isn't going to have the opportunity to shine on XF, and it's not really for opera singers. I don't see why people like Michael Collins couldn't have just done XF though - yeah, he played the guitar, but it wasn't an original song.
They should limit the amount they put through to the semis though, as they seem to have done with dancers this year.

Cher Lloyd was 17 when she entered X-Factor, they have dropped the age to 16.

I reckon good looking people between the ages of 16-40 should be advised to go on X-Factor instead. Dunno about banning them but if the judges feel they would be better on XF then they shouldn't show their audition and just give them a golden ticket to see the judges when the XF auditions start.

Kind of agree with previous post, X Factor is about finding a pop singer by getting them to deliver cover versions, if singers go on BGT then perhaps they should be using original material and/or singing in another style.

It always was 16, and was dropped to 14 for the fourth and fifth series.

Ah, but what if the top three on BGT aren't singers?

I wouldn't say i slated x factor, but you came barging in to the forum just to say how bad the show is. This is the bgt forum anyway and thats what i'm here to talk about.

Its just annoying how if you are a good singer that overshadows a good magic act, or a good stunt act. Its simon i blame, he is always looking for a young singer to fill his wallet. He doesn't give a hoot about the non singing acts.

that wouldnt matter.

The BGT finalists and the X Factor finalists together in one talent show.

Obviously there would be the 3 x factor singers but they could be up against dance acts, stand ups etc.

It would be pretty cool for a Christmas Day programme. The ultimate talent show to close the year out

I think young singers should go on XF. Like those 2 teenage boy singers that got through, they DONT NEED TO BE THEIR! THEYRE JUST WASTING VALUABLE SPACE! But Ronan and the young boy band cant go on XF because theyre too young for it right now.

Are you talking about the rappers?

One's 13 and the other is 14, they are too young but then again, how often do we get good rappers on the show?

The stupid thing is once ronan and jls2 are 5 years older there careers are dead as their voices will have broken. Whoops forgot about pop music's best friend autotune!

its the way it is manipulated though, if the top 40 acts from the auditions got put through to the semi`s then fair enough, but we know that did not happen dont we

When I went to the BGT auditions a guy sang an original song that was really good! Amanda stopped him and asked him to sing a cover  so BGT is just as bad for songwriters as X factor!

BGT ruthlessly pushes singing and musical acts over everything else. It's judged, edited, packaged and press-released so that music, especially singers, dominate.

Why should this be? Could it have anything to do with how much money Simon Cowell can make off of music downloads and CDs? It's hard to cash in on a talented cyclist or a trapeze or dog act or whatever.

I would ban children completely (from BGT, not the planet, obviously), singers and keyboard players. Both the keyboard players in the final are worse than the average people you hear in any town music festival up and down the country. One has no personality at all and the other has WAAAY too much.
