A Good Man Goes to War: When Amy is kidnapped as bait in a trap, the Doctor declares war on those responsible and assembles an army of allies to recover her. Meanwhile, River realizes that the Doctor's darkest hour has come and she must reveal her greatest secret to the Time Lord.

Saturday's the day we find out who River Song really is. Here's your chance to assemble all the clues you've picked up since Silence in the Library and to put your case.

Favourites seem to be (a) the Doctor's wife, (b) Amy and Rory's daughter or (c) a surviving Time Lord (Romana or the Rani, for instance). But are these just red herrings?

No spoilers here, just guess work. I'll add a poll to the thread when enough people have put forward their ideas.

But then she is an actress . . . Suranne Jones did a very good bit of deflection (prior to The Doctor's Wife being broadcast) right here on Digital Spy when asked if her character had anything to do with the TARDIS. She looked really confused and said 'No, I don't think so. Does she? No, I really don't think so."

A wild guess here, but could River Song possibly be that daughter of Melanie Bush and Sabalom Glitz?

Me too. Being Amy and Rory's daughter would be a bit underwhelming.

Well it's been pretty much confirmed on Moffat's twitter feed that she's:

Spoiler
A character in Doctor Who who is portrayed by Alex Kingston.

And no-one's really been able to contradict that yet. Though I'm sure there will be some fun theories!

my guesses of who River song might be:

-The master (disguised as a Woman)
-The doctors Mother
-A time lord
-She killed the Doctor in the Impossible astronaut episode.
-She could be prisoner Zero ..because she said she has killed someone a long time ago.
-She could be a Ganger as well.

To be honest I dont have a clue ..but I like guessing

River can't be Rory and Amy's daughter as all three are seen arguing over Amy's child's cot.

My money is on Rory and Amy's daughter, got a feeling the big reveal will be her calling Amy "mother" or something in the last few seconds of the episode.

Either that, or could she possibly be Amy's mother?

According to sources the baby isnt there at the time. Also I dont know about you but arguing with your parents is pretty normal.

She might be Omega! If I've got my facts straight, he/she is still trapped in a Black Hole and exists in an anti-matter universe? This may explain why her timeline goes in reverse.

I think she'll just turn out to be a double agent or will in some other way seriously betray or disappoint the Doctor - so he'll find out who she really is in the sense that he'll discover the true nature of her person.

It's unlikely she's anyone specific from history, or anything else we could actually work out so I can't quite summon the energy to analyse beyond that.

Spoiler
Apparently in the beginning of AGMGTW she has just got back from a date with the Doctor. So either he has forgiven her or hes an idiot.

Most people are thinking she wil turn out to be Amy's daugher - but it just seems tooooooooooo obvious. There's quite a lot of scope for her being The Rani (The Galifreyan connection if nothing else) - but actually I hope not. Not unless they keep her on as a longterm baddy

Spoiler
If the betrayal happens in the episode, then the Doctor hasn't experienced it yet. And if River stays with the Doctor from the start through the episode, then it hasn't happened to her yet either. But the other versions of River that we've seen have been through it.

From everything I've heard, I really do think it's b, but I'm sure that if that is the case, it's not all there is to her.
