Evening Chryedville, how are we all this slow blackhole wednesday?

I came home from work and watched Nina/Ace on TM and it was lovely to see Ace out of character, what a nice guy!

Have been unable to not stop watching bed scene on replay and don't think I ever will unless we get another one or my most wanted scene now is for a Shannis style undressing and snogging passionate scene!

I am soo looking forward to soap mags at weekend as we only have Chryed next thursday and we may get pics of gay bar and Tamfia wedding pics!

I feel the same...I used to envy Aaron's screen time a lot...but for all the screen time....the storyline has not been universally seen as positive by the fans. I know Chryed will never get the screen time Aaron gets on ED, and they will never get the screen time that the HO couple do...but I can accept that...as long as Chryed get decent screen time, writing and s/ls...the last few weeks have been brilliant and reminded me of how lovely it is to be a Chryed fan...and have so much new stuff to talk about. I am really enjoying seeing their relationship mature...they are worthy of decent screen time...I know some hate them and some are indifferent...whatever...but I have seen some people praise them, when they haven't before...I love that...just give them screen time and they (and the Masoods) can deliver.

Basically, this. Nonstop angst is tiresome, and I have little patience for characters who mope around nonstop, even if they have every right to do so. Aaron and Ronnie are soap's biggest perpetrators of this, but there are others. It's no fun to watch constant misery, with no end in sight. edit: This is also why I can see why Brendan/Ste are so popular- their storyline is very dark, but Brendan seems like a fun character, too, and I don't think Ste is by any stretch 'an Aaron', and there's more to it than flat-out misery and despair.

Christian's default setting is 'happy' and, these days, so is Syed's. They've been through hell, but they don't wallow in it. They've moved past it. I've been highly critical of EE the past few months, and rightly so, but I will commend them for their bravery in showing a happy, sexually active, same-sex couple, who are entirely committed to each other. While I think HO have been very brave to tackle DV in a same-sex relationship, I don't think EE's bravery on this issue can be understated. Showing a happy gay couple seems to be an impossibility for soaps as a whole- even JP/Craig, got their happy ending, but that was it. Actually, showing a happy couple, period, seems to be an impossibility for soaps, but as the past couple of episodes have shown, you can be happy without being boring. Just because you're happy doesn't mean you're perfect and free of insecurities, and it was a good balance.

How sad for the Aarson fans. I'm sure the bulk of them would have rather seen Jackson die during the tram accident. All I hear now is how depressing the storyline is. I know it's meant to be but at the same time, it's supposed to engage the audience.

As for their chemistry, I can’t judge as I don’t watch but you’re not the first person I’ve seen who’s said there is little to no chemistry between them. Even the fans are saying it and when they do, you know there is a problem.

I agree with you Steph, we definitely backed the right horse. People on the main forum can critiIcse the characters of Christian and Syed as individuals if they wish but it would be very hard to criticise their chemistry. They’re so natural together and you truely can believe that they are a couple, in love.

This may offend many, but in his last few months Mr Blyth devised an attempted suicide for Aaron (gassing himself in a car) but was saved by his best mate, Adam

Then a few months later a deranged policeman started a fire in which two characters died. The policeman later blew his brains out.

Next Tuesday Jackson dies. Three suicide stories he concocted in just a few months. At the start of November Mfr Blyth had to stop work as he was very sadly diagnosed with cancer. On November 26th he died.

I think it is fair comment to say that he allowed his own despair and depression to influence the storylines he devised in his final months.

I think it is also fair to say he highly rated the actor who plays Aaron and seemed determined to make it his story, with Jackson (and another character called Flynn) just called upon to be his victims. I do know that they refused to allow Marc Silcock to be nominated for the BSA "Best Newcomer" preferring Pauline Quirke to be nominated, and requests for interviews with him were rejected by ITV, who only allowed him to appear in joint interviews with Danny Miller, who dominated any conversation. The problem is Danny Miller is straight and seems very ill at ease playing a gay character, so when he says that he "loves" Jackson it doesn't ring true. Anyway, next Tuesday he helps to kill him

Ha, why am I not surprised? We're too similar. I'd suggest some sort of complaining contest to prove it, but I think you'd win, though I'd put up a good fight, as long as surrogacy was involved in the discussion.

I honestly don't know how you managed to get this reputation as being negative, and I avoided it. I did nothing but complain (rightfully! I don't think I was being even remotely unreasonable, given how much praise I've given to the storyline when it merits it) for... four months? Five? My naturally cheery disposition shines through, clearly. :sleep:

Between August 10 and March 11 I've been mostly pessemistic in my posts. It did my head in not seeing Chryed and the Masoods for months and months, while the likes of the Moon and Brannings hogged the screen. Most of my frustrations were targeted at BK.

However I have seen a change since the ABRC. Chryed are getting decent screentime and development. We've got all the stuff coming up with thier civil partnership and of course Syed's involvement with Yusef which should be interesting. I'm feeling optimistic for the first time in months.
