Saorview via BTV Silver box question
Hello,
Just a quick question. Is it possible to receive Saorview in Northern Ireland (checked the website coverage, and I should be covered) via the BT Vision silver box? Or would it have to be the black box? or would neither be able to decode it? Thanks |

Saorview via BTV Silver box question
You need a Freeview HD or a Freeview HD+ box to receive it

Not true, been working on my silver BT Vision box for over a year now, the only problem is you can't record anything as the EPG is BT's not the one transmitted. If you have the beta iplayer s/w though you can pause the channels, including RTE2 HD.

just scan for channels, if you are in range of digital signal it will appear around 800 on in the EPG.
I have the old silver box from the beginnings of BTvision and recieve Saorview with no problems. Live in the Limavady area! |

Will Sony Twin Tuner Freeview HD PVR have Freeview and Saorview on same EPG? My Saorview signal (I'm in Moira) is rock solid - just sound no picture on my present Sony analogue/digital recorder.

Should be fine, channels sit quite happily together in the epg on my TV, though will obviously only update when on the channels for each service. One thing to note though, if the RTE signal is stronger then you can find BBC1,2, UTV, Ch4 and Ch5 banished to the 800's as the TV thinks they are second versions of the stronger channels, as both systems use the same numbering system.
