He said to ant and dec 'one of you will be in the final' meaning a geordie so cheryl will be in final
that sounds plausable. huge step down for her though if that is the case

Could be Jackie Evancho's performance! or going to bring in top youtube auditionee!
think it has something to do with the youtube auditioning or wildcard - proberly 9 will perform instead of 8
This is the most logical explanation as he said 'you could be in the final'.

He also said it was a twist and so another contestant makes sense.

Having Cheryl as some have suggested makes no sense as that would be a 'surprise' not a 'twist'.

I dont think so not after the digs he said about her tonight.
i said to the wife, perhaps he is firing dec, so leaving just ant to present the final, as that is twice this week dec has got in digs about cheryl cole to simon this week

But that doesn't seem particularly fair on the acts already in... Having 9 instead of 8 on one night would spread the voting more. Especially considering the rubbish we've had the past couple of nights, the good acts all seem to be squished into two nights already!
I'd guess it's that one of the 3rd place acts will get through on a wildcard.

I'm pretty sure the "one of you will be in the final" comment was a bad joke, as in one of them will get sacked like Cheryl. There is no way Cheryl Cole has anything to do with the surprise.

Simon should leave the jokes to McIntyre.

He was chuckling as he said "That's showbiz"....he seemed to be almost enjoying it

Cheryl Cole Might be singing on Saturday maybe? Could that be it
That's ironic, since she's got no talent..

Interestingly, Dec looked slightly rattled

I can't see Ant agreeing to do the show without Dec. They're like brothers and very close.
Simon could try all he wants but he'd fail on that one.

yeah. but i think if simon had genuinely been annoyed about mondays comment dec would have been warned. and the comment he made tonight was spur of the moment so unless simon literally decided it about 5 minutes before it was announced then it wouldn't be that. and if it was something like that, surely they wouldn't be hyping it up? be very cruel and dec is very established in the world of tv so i can't see simon dropping him live on tv. be very, very cruel of itv to allow him to do that. i think ant would walk, the fall out would be massive and simon wouldn't want one his flagship shows to be seen to fall apart on live telly. it would be the end of the show if it was on live telly. plus, simon was going along with the jokes anyways

Some of these posts do make me laugh, as if either Ant or Dec would be fired! Can you even imagine, Simon going on a "firing spree" like that. As someone said above, it was a bad joke that fell a bit flat. Really, Ant/Dec getting fired live on air, I mean it would be amazing to watch (!) but would never happen.

And Cheryl is not going to be on the final. Or in the show tomorrow. Ever.

It will be something to do with some sort of wildcard, to do with maybe someone who didn't get through previously or someone who came third so far this week or youtube etc. Something like that.

I was thinking the same, as BGT had one day youtube spotlight and featured promotion urging viewers to visit the act they would like to see in finals

think it has something to do with the youtube auditioning or wildcard - proberly 9 will perform instead of 8

And also, Simon loves Ant and Dec making jokes about their accents, it keeps the story running for longer!

the wildcard idea seems a bit pointless if it is that

People are actually discussing this on both of the threads on the same topic!
Are these the same people that vote?

The YouTube link as someone mentioned before is the most logical.

I'm sure it must have been a joke from Simon, but it was interesting the way Dec's face dropped, as if he was thinking "Bloody hell, is Cowell being serious?"

It will be a wildcard for someone who didn't get to the semis.

We're not seriously discussing Dec being sacked live on air are we?

I know Simon's lost the plot slightly of late, but he's not gone completely loopy.

It was done in April, 3 of them were allowed as producers choice to perform in front of judges including upandoverit / operadog/mr and mrs musicians.

so was the youtube thing not done before the original auditions then??

Simon made some barbs this evening which I thought were directed at Cheryl (one definitely seemed to be; the other one...maybe).
