At what age do you think this hairy fairy self indulgent dance routine from the Dancing Boy should stop?

I'm not sure when he should stop, but based on his audition and semi-final performances he won't be taken seriously as a contemporary dancer. There are so many better dancers out there which overshadow him. He's raised his profile on BGT and thus will book jobs based on his name, not his talent. Fortunately, he's young and he should improve, but from what we've seen, he's only a good dancer, not a great one.

Cmon people, even now we are trying to be polite. He was rubbish, couldnt end his dance routine in time with the music and whilst Im not up on my ballet manouevers, even I could attempt some of the stuff he was doing. It was all very self indulgent and if they hadn't slipped in his 'austism' (which incidentally is on a spectrum, so its not like he's rainman for christ sakes, he's probably just mildly 'Aspergers Syndromy' (to coin a phrase)).

He was rubbish.

I know I've said it in a number of threads, but he really isn't good at all and it pisses me off that he is hailed as some amazing dancer when he isn't.

Check out some young ballet dancers on youtube and you'll see what I mean.

i concur. i hate how they keep repeating he overcame his autism. you cannot overcome autism, it's in you, end of. he is at best (or should we say worst) a mild aspi. he interacts too friendly to be a proper aspi even. and he is too young to be good at copying social behaviour yet.

having first hand experience with a mild aspi person, i know they wouldn't have interacted that openly at that age and only learned to fake it lateron.

He was wobbling quite a bit when he was standing on one foot.

The thing I dont get is when The Hoff said he was showing all those kids at school who had teased him etc etc.

Now I don't know which school the Hoff had gone to, but doing his routine on national television wouldnt have stopped the bullies at my school. Actually it would have egged them on ......

Should we all feel awful we are sticking it to some 12 year old kid, or is he fair game as he's on national TV?

One million percent agree!

If he was a normal kid without a sob story or an adult dancing that badly, he'd get torn to shreds

If he danced that routine to a panel of four clasically trained dancers (someone who actually knows what's good) in an audition, he'd be buzzed out after 10 seconds.

All this "overcoming adversity" crap is getting proper tiresome. He has VERY mild autism and had a gammy leg as a child, he wasn't a wheelchair bound Rainman FFS.

Some people can be so nasty.

He is still young and will hopefully go on to train professionally because i believe he has big potential.

Yes he has some potential, but he isn't good as the judges make him out to be. If the show was looking for someone who might be good enough to make it as a dancer in the future, then he'd be a shoe-in.

The simple truth is if it hadn't been described as 'autistic' then he wouldn't have got very far. Now he has a 'story' and he will be pushed through on that. And having met several 'autistic' kids he is nothing like them at all. Mind you they have put through some terrible acts so he hasn't had too much competition.

I thought he was good. Not perfect, but has a great flow of movement, very graceful and would be a great act for the Royal Variety Performance.

You're right. But then again he wants to be in a competition to be the best. A huge part of that is listening to what people think about him.

Good and BAD.
