How on earth can your act in the final be better than the semi-final?

You've had a lot more time to rehearse for the semi-final, and there is no point thinking 'Well I'll do my OK'ish routine for the semi-final and save up my spectacular routine for the final.' because they might never get to that point, so the very nature of the format kind of leads to a poor final.

Im reminded of that street dance group who promised they had saved something spectacular for the final ...... well bit late now isnt it boys?

Your thoughts/witherings?

If they want to win the show, they have no choice but to save their best for the final, and if you deserve to win, a slightly less good semi final performance will be sufficient to get you through. Just ask Diversity.

What pisses me off in the final is when variety acts are told they haven't "stepped it up" from their semi-final or such like, but the singers are allowed to just sing the same song from their auditions (cough SuBo) and get standing ovations!

I think it was George Sampson that did exactly the same routine (same music and choreography), singing in the rain, in the semi final and the final and somehow he won. It was EXACTLY the same act and yet got praised to high heaven for it too.

It can be done but people who go through on Monday have an unfair advantage in that they have 5 days to practise a routine solely for the final whereas someone who goes through on Friday has little time if any.
ANother conspiracy theory as to why Ronan & New Bounce were so early in the week?
Plenty of time to get it spot on in the final (production included!) Hehe!
