This thread has turned into next levels.

I'll leave it as Karen is an ok person trying her best.

I think she's doing very well.

She's a nice, calm, presence and she usually makes sense.

Still missing Margaret, though.

I don't particularly like Karen. She does seem to have favourites particularly some of the males and as said doesn't seem to take to any 'ballsy' women. And I often think her wrong in some of the things she says though that's just my opinion.

To be fair though, the comment Bordan made last series was I think made more out of spite because she'd had a go at him for something which was totally unfair - he made a comment about a contestant (can't remember which one) based on his interview with them. She criticised it based on the tasks that she had seen the contestant on which is totally unfair; Bordan hadn't obviously seen the tasks and was there to put across his view of the candidates based on his interview with them.

Only if you like your women exceptionally chunky.

She was MD at Birmingham and they went from League One to the Prem under her watch. She also had the beginnings of a successful career before that.

I would think that her role at West Ham is more limited.

She's on the board of Sport England, Mothercare, Channel 4 and Arcadia.

She's been married for 15 years despite both her and her husband working in an industry that is a notorious marriage breaker.

She's had a life threatening illness and carried on with out any 'woe is me' stories in the media.

I respect her

"Exceptionally chunky"? Good grief.

I quite like Karren; she'll never be as fantastically acerbic and entertaining as Margaret, but she's doing Ok. She certainly doesn't bother me.

But quite what her physique has got to do with anything is beyond me.

I look at my Football club, Birmingham City, before the Gold's Sullivan and Brady came to the club and after.

They all left the club in a far better condition than they found it and in my view Karren did a phenomenal job in her role at the club as well as fighting sexism in the sport when she first joined (one club banned her from their boardroom as she was a woman and she did not take it lying down).

I have nothing but admiration and respect for Karren and miss her at the club. She did an awesome job for us.

The same goes for David Sullivan and the Gold brothers.

Well said Sir.

Not only did Birmingham improve on the pitch, the management backed the team Manager and the club became far slicker off the pitch with the corporate hospitality, ground development and event hosting.

She is a real role model and a real inspiration to women in business. She is also very personable. I had the pleasure to meet her twice at Birmingham City open days.

She is a first class businesswoman.

That is really sad. Sad that you think she is "chunky" in the first place, and sad that you think it matters in respect to her business experience.

The model Emma Frain who is in the lads mag shoot this week said in an interview that Karen Brady was drawing her dirty looks during the filming of the episode.

The same Karen Brady with her interesting previous employment

If you respect successful business people then she deserves respect.
She is more successful that nick and Margarete
She has achieved more than any of them ever will
Personally though I don't respect business people because they have quite often done ruthless things to get rich

Whoa, whoa, whoa there sonny jim. Whoa.

There are some very bold claims there which need putting into some kind of context. Karen Brady may well be a successful business woman good at raising the profile of her business ventures, such as the time Birngham FC were front page news after being raided by the police in relation to corruption in football, a splendid effort, not to mention her unscrupulous and principled stand for women in male-centric environments, such as standing up for Sian Massey over the sexism row courtesy of Andy Grey and Richard Keys, and further cementing her unimpeachable feminist stance by being assocatied with a porn baron and she herself writing frothy novels about women being shagged in the showers by footballers. Irradicable memories of a mediocre literary carrer aside, she is, as has been pointed out, also chunky. Perhaps even "phenomenally" so.

On the other hand, Margaret quit the show to spend more time looking at Egyptian scrolls for her PhD, and Nick has driven across Ulan Bator in a Renault 4.

Top that Brady.

I don't have a problem with KB but I just wish they had brought in someone more in keeping with the style of Margaret. KB's personality just doesn't add anything special to the mix.

not keen on her hypocrisy,
after saying she wouldn't go to work half naked , she seemed to forget she was a former porn MODEL, never mind working for the porn barons The Gold's and Sullivan .

Does Nick Hewer even know that Karen Brady is in the boardroom?

I thought she only got started because she had a rich daddy.

I don't see why she is so great to be honest. The way she critiques the contestants- I would love to see how she would handle a similar situation, were she in their shoes.

Perhaps I’m just uncomfortable with the whole- ‘I am more successful than you, therefore I am immune to criticism and am always right about everything’ sort of shtick she seems to carry around with her.

Nick is pretty astute but she doesn’t seem to share his tact or charm. Margaret was so much better.
