Important part of the task missing

Pricing and costing . What price were both teams going to charge for their foods weighed against the cost of the ingredients.

In past similar tasks this was a major issue with Sugar and was more attuned to running a business.

This task was focusing on the brand and marketing. It didn't matter what they actually put into the tins.

I thought they were just trying to make food to photograph, and make it look good

That's what confused me too. The whole task this week was bizarre I felt.

In real life branding and marketing is left to companies specialising in this field .
Sugar should not be firing candidates just because they did not come up with a good name.

Indeed. The final for series 5 was to brand and market chocolates. Yasmina's tasted foul, apparently, but she still won. This task shows that the production team maybe learned from that mistake, and nobody cares what the dog food tastes like.

Good point Plus companies take months to come up with names ecc, were as the teams had to do it in 2 days so it's easy to come up with naff names & make a balls up of the task.

personally i felt the actual food making was just a excuse to force the teams to split up so theres more drama

Both teams went to Waltham pet food to make up their "recipes" before photographing them.
