Ok So the Talent has not been great so what do you think the producers and Simon Cowell need to do next year to make the show better and to get people watching again?

Find talent. And do it without cheating. Simple.

This show should defo call it a day!!

Honestly, there has been some awful acts in the semi-finals!!

And some baffling decisions by the judges.....the French dancer not being put through, the guy on the bike not reaching the final!!

I think all the artists should have natural self-taught talent. Not have spent the last 5 years at dance school, or have a singing teacher, or years with a piano teacher!! Yes, they may have dedication but that ain't the same!!

Thats why Paul Potts, Subo, etc are exceptional - just God given talent!!

But people are watching. The live shows are still getting 10m plus a night. That's good by anybody's standards.

With shows such as the X Factor I think BGT should ban singers. Maybe ban street dancers as well?

We'd see some variety then.

ITV should PULL IT before they get into trouble with the licencing authorities. How they can allow the winner's to go through to the Variety Perfomance in front of THE QUEEN god only knows - they should cut the links they have with the show as well.Trouble is only ££££££££$$$$$$$ do the talking these days only sadly.Money is important but surely this shouldn't take presidence over actually breaking licence conditions - not that ITV would actually admit that those rules are actually being broken.

I don't know. I honestly think the show could reach it's close sooner rather than later.Even if viewing figures aren't terrible, the talent applying to the show and/or put through is scarce.
Boredom will grow as every dance troupe will be compared to Diversity, every singing child act will be seen as a money-making scheme for Simon, any remotely different act such as magic would most likely get overlooked and dominated by the singers and dancers. Auditions with the surprise factor ala Susan Boyle, are hard to come by.

The audition episodes have become a whitewash; showing the audience cringeworthy acts in their masses, thinking it's funny when really alot of the better acts do not get screentime they deserve.
The judges not always making wise choices for the semi's, we're having to wave goodbye to the likes of Michael the dancer whilst being expected to welcome Pop-eye, etc. with open arms.

Next year they simply need to remember the title of the show. It'd be better if they edited it in the same way as the Australian show, which shows long clips of good talent, and a montage of the bad. And then put strong talent through and not joke acts.

reduce the number of acts in the semis or have a top 40 but have less freak acts.

There should only be one "joke act" per semi.

And lose Amanda.

Im warming to the Hoff though. Im suprised he and micheal dont have better chemistry

Simple - categorise.

The judges should be asked to find the top 5 singers, groups, dancers, musicians, comedian/impressionists, magician/illusion/vent acts - and so on.

Then put one from each category through into the semis.

That way we get a better spread rather than the rather haphazard one of three (mediocre) dog acts.

Some say when I mention this - but you could then end up with all singers and dancers in the final. Which is true now anyway. The above would make that less likely.

Though you could be brave and have a singing semi, a dancing semi, a comedy semi etc....Then you choose 8 of each category and guarantee that the best two in each genre make the final and that the final is a real variety show.

What a retarded comment

I'm sorry, but I have far more respect for people who develop their skills and crafts, working and training on them. Plus, Susan Boyle had singing lessons so

People are born with talent, but in my opinion they should train that talent. Musicians who are talented don't just pick up a violin and play world class - they have to practice many hours a day, and it should make no difference if they are helped by a teacher or not.

I like Jaycee's idea, that would work well IMO. Especially if they did categorise the semis - we could have singers, dancers, comedians (incl impressionists), 'novelty' acts - and I think categorising all under 16s in their own group would make it more fair too.

I do think this would help, it's unfair getting through on the 'ahhhhh factor'.

I agree wth Jaycee aswell, that would be a constructive change for the show and lower the risk of overload hopefully.
