Sugar is not fair to everyone

Instead of targetting the people who come forward in the task and speak up in the boardroom, he should target those who just sit back, remain silent, and let the doers and sayers take all the flak and eventual sacking. People like Helen and Edna and even Susan last night.

Before he announces which team has won, he should ask each candidate what was their contribution to the task.

Why would he target people on the winning team?

Yeah! And that Ellie! Why didn't he fire her?!??!?!?!

How do you know he doesn't? What we see is 3-4 hours edited down into 20 minutes.

Besides, he'll have been thoroughly briefed on what the candidates did by the people who were there watching what the candidates did.

Because many of them are just passengers hoping for an easy ride.

So he should have asked Vince which two from the opposing team he wanted to bring in to the boardroom?

That's why he fired Alex and Ellie.

It's hard to judge the contribution of people on the winning team.

On 'You're Fired' last week, Felicity said it was between 24 and 72 hours, not 3-4.

They only show the 'vital' and the 'entertaining' parts. Oh, the joys of editing!

He's targetted silent people more than ever this series... What are you talking about?

the apprentice is a very simple format - 2 teams and whoever messes up the most has to pick 3 people who get a grilling from LS and the worst one(or two sometimes) of the 3 gets fired and once you understand the rules it obvious that LS dont let anyone shy away for too long as he'll start to pick team leaders even if you keep in the winning team

I don't remember her saying that at all. That would certainly go against the shooting schedule of 3 tasks over the course of a week, 2 days each and Sundays off.

Can you really imagine Lord Surallen sitting on the set of the boardroom for 72 hours straight? I'm pretty sure he has better things to do with his time.

Several of the candidates have said that the boardroom is 'all day' so I would imagine 9:00 until they are done, so probably 8 to 14 hours elapsed.

I do not believe this for a min . Sometimes they have to be back in the BR when the task finishes at 5 or 6pm.

Have you got any link from any ex candidate to confim what you said?

And you really believe that Sugar and co are waiting there for them and spend the evening discussing it?

I don't know how to link to a TV programme.

But several have said it on 'YF'.

I don't know whether they actually always spend a complete day on it but certain candidates have said that it's a whole day affair and can go on into the evening

I imagine she meant the entire task, not just the boardroom part.

Most episodes are 2 days for the task and 1 day for the boardroom. This one was a 3 day task, so they had even more footage than usual. I think I heard a normal task has about 70 hours of footage, although that now sounds low. 2 days, at 8 hours per day, for 2 teams of 2 sub-teams each, would be 64 hours. That leaves 6 hours for the boardroom. I'm sure they work longer than 8 hour days, though; I suppose the sub-teams aren't always split and maybe the cameras are off for some of the time.

Certainly a lot goes on we don't see.

When that happens, it is usually a short session in which the results are announced. Then they go home, and the full session takes place the next day - and probably does take "all day". The winning team often have their treat at the same time.

I think some of the day is the losing candidates waiting, bored, while Lord Sugar goes over the reports of Nick and Karren and the production team in private.

It was especially jarring last year when the boys went to Paris for the day, but were seen back at the house again when the girls returned after the final boardroom (during the scavenger hunt task with the infamous bust up between Stella and Liz).
