New Hi-Fi advice
Very much a novice.
I have finally decided that I really should update my 20 ish year old Sanyo system for something better and more relevant ( ie no record deck or double cassette player!) I would like something a bit better and reckon on a budget of approx £325. Initial research leads me to the Denon M38 probably with Q acoustic 2010 speakers as recommended by What Hi-fi magazine and the Sony MX 750ni which has wi - fi capability. Opinions on the above options would be welcome. I do also wonder whether I should wait for something with a hard drive for converting all my CD's. Apparently the Sony gigajuke system was excellent but has been discontinued but a new model may appear in the autumn. Not sure if there is anything similar in my price range? Thanks |

If you live close to a Richer Sounds outlet go and talk to the guys there. They know a lot more about real audio kit than the average box shifters.

Denon do make some good kit. I have had a Denon amp and CD player before and they were very good. Their midi systems like the M38 are generally well regarded going by the reviews I've seen.
I've got the Q Acoustics speakers as part of my surround system and they are a pretty good little speaker. Obviously I am using them in a different application but I could see them doing good service as a stereo pair. Perhaps a little lacking in the deepest bass but that would be my only criticism (after all the were really designed to work with a sub for real trouser flapping bass )

Does the Denon also have the ability to record onto CD's or just play CD R'S ?
