So how do they get 9 acts in tomorrow?

Less ads, less judges comments, what? Place your bets now folks!

My guess is they'll buzz off as many acts as possible so there's more time. The guy with the eyes is a definite, can't remember who else is performing though.

Maybe less time for each VT introduction for each act.

They'll just not show Corrie...

I'm sure even on a cliffhanger night as tomorrow's is supposed to be, if Simon says to ITV cancel it, they would!!

Or they could just get Razy and Michael to do a double act dance tomorrow - they've had all week to practice (as the decision was not made today!)

Simon's important but not THAT important.

Remember in the first three years the full show, including results, was 90 minutes long, so it won't be a problem tomorrow - and it probably won't be that noticeable either. I'd imagin in the penultimate part they'll have acts 7 & 8 rather than just act 7.

That is if they have nine acts - they might have quietly dropped one to make room for Michael.

Popeye will probably be buzzed out quickly I think.

Plus less bullocks from Ant n' Dic...........

What did they do when Hollie Steel was infamously given a second slot? They'll probably do whatever was done then.

To be honest, just one minute less faffing about on each act (say 15 seconds off the VT, 15 seconds off the comments, 15 seconds off the performance and no Ant and Dec introductory joke) would make more than enough room for another act. Not that big an issue really.

quite easily really, drop a couple of the advert breaks, all this week, we have sky plussed it, and started watching at about 20:10, fast forwarded thru the breaks and still watched it all by 21:00

For starters the 9th returning act Micheal won't have much on the intro so chances are they will just use that time.

also resuffle the order will make time as the breaks in last few have been used more to give time to clear the stage. some acts can be squeesed in and also thers plenty of time at end almost 20 min

Less chatter at the start and in between acts, they only have to find a couple of minutes (5 max) - they managed it at short notice for Holly. And as already mentioned, they can buzz an act or two if desparate (although time saved may be negligible when you add the the time it would take to explain the buzzes).

Less time devoted to recaps and competition entry details would be my guess.

Its only an extra 10 minutes at most, just cut down the intro and some comments and it can all do be done. Remember last nights acts were done by 8.52 and we had 8 minutes of recap and ads before 9, the show will probably squeeze to about 9.01ish

I reckon it will start at 7:15 and run to 9. If thats possible without ruining a program.

It will fit in seemlessly, just like The X Factor and Dancing on Ice lose contestants week after week but the running time is usually only cut every 3 weeks or so.

And actually back in series 1 two of the semi-finals (in a 90-minute slot also including the results) were due to have nine acts in each, but a sex offender and three prostitutes later they were cut back to eight.

They won't allow the ads to be affected, even though there are 2 within the first 20 minutes. The acts that aren't so good won't get as much feedback time. They only need to find an extra 7 minutes on average, not hard to do in the space of a 90 minute show that is mostly filled with wittering.

The programme overran and the News was delayed. That was a live decision. It wasn't preplanned.

I reckon it'll just somehow work. Usually there is an ad break after act 1, act 2, act 4, act 6 and act 7.

I reckon tomorrow, it'll be an ad break after act 1, act 2, act 4, act 6 and act 8.

They'll fit it in easily. In the first 3 series the 90 minute shows included the results, so the shows this year have been longer than they used to be with the same amount of acts anyway so it won't be a problem. Anyway, its been finishing at 8:55pm all week anyway so they've got a bit of spare time available without cutting anything.

All this week ITV have refrained from putting adverts in the ITV National News shown before Britain's Got Talent. Usually they do put adverts in. In fact on Monday, when it was the Bank Holiday they went from 6pm to the end of TV Burp without putting in any paid adverts (the only adverts were trailers for ITV programs that you get on BBC.)

I imagine this is because they can charge more during BGT and want to put as many as possible on during the program so they aren't putting as many on earlier. However, if they put the usual ad break in during the National News tonight then they'll still fit in the same number of adverts but might lose a bit of revenue.
