So I was on Facebook and all the Facebook fan page for the candidates most of them have about 1k to 2k fans or thereabouts. Except Jim, he has over 23K LIKES :O And I dont know why? What makes him be so loved by the masses? Heheheh. I think he always looks sad.

I've tried my best to like Jim but he's just too deceitful for me. I'm waiting for someone to really lay into him so that he goes all wide-eyed and starts twitching because his brain can't handle the criticism and then he explodes.

It's the Irish effect, it's not often we get an Irish candidate on the UK Apprentice who is good (rules Ben Clarke out) so yeah everyone is supporting him.

I dont know why I like him, he said you will like me and I liked him, like some kind of jedi mind trick.

He has come across as an arse from the start. He's an arrogant, unpleasant, menacing, threatening character. However, more of a mystery to me than how some people can like him is how some women can find him attractive. He looks like an owl.


Don't forget that you have to "like" a page or group on FB in order to post on it, whether complimentary or critical, so "like" numbers are actually misleading.

I liked Jim but i'm not so sure now.
It isn't his fault if others almost genuflect when he walks in the room as the contestants are adults but...there's something unlikeable the last couple of weeks for me. I doubt Sugar will hire him.

I liked him until last week. Not so sure now. At least he is interesting, there aren't many who are in this year's series.

He's probably the most interesting candidate this year in that he's so far removed from the other quivering besuited wrecks -- he's standing there, sword at he ready, which is quite a refreshing change. He's bloody-minded and bulldozing his way through the competition, and that's enough to create a name for himself.

Every year has its favourites or 'ones to watch' and Jim has been that candidate from the start. I think his Irish accent helps because it makes him sound so calm and gentle, which I don't think is necessarily the true case. Some of my female friends think he has (or had) a certain charm which initially made him very likeable and trick you into thinking that he was one of the rare good guys to enter the process. Now though, I'm not sure if he is as sky high popular as he was before after the Vincent boardroom incident. Now only one of my females still likes him as much now as before whereas, funnily enoguh, most of my male friends still want him to win.

That was a matter of opinion, her accent used to change like the wind!

As a foreigner, Ireland is one country to me

Jim seems to think of this as a business opportunity - so he is not aiming to take prisoners - BUT his failure to accept responsibility for the 'every' concept was a dubious piece of judgment. the owners consider their pets special and with animals it is not a 'one-size fits all' situation, so the 'every' concept (borrowed from 'easy') was not quite right. he did the right damage-limitation in saying that it was a brand idea, but should have accepted that the branding was not right for the product.
he may have talked himself into LS bad books with that and needs a good task or two to get back some credibility.
