Jessica's last words before her gagging order from brand Syco

She wasn't gagged, she started to cry as she just saw her dreams go down the pan. It was good that she spoke out, even better that the audience cheered when she said it wasn't her choice.

Or perhaps cried as she suddenly remembered she'd signed a contract & would be in a whole heap of trouble if she continued to talk.

Another way of looking at it.

Spot the Cowell's face, he didn't look very impressed.

She was going to say "Apparently it was somebody... CALLED SIMON COWELL WHO CHOSE THE SONG!"

After a lot of thought, I reckon she would have said something close to "Apparently it was somebody else's decision and not mine"

Yeah, I know, but realistically, what else could it be?

I wish she got the chance to finish, must be so frustrating for her.

As for the audience clapping in support of the fact she spoke out about not choosing the song: my take is there are people in the audience who encourage clapping and cheering surely that was a reaction to try and stop her going on to saying anything against the show. sorry if thats too cynical...

She wasn't that good I dont think, not compared to Out of The Blue who I would have loved to get through, but I did tear up a bit. She did great to get to the semi's and has potential so I hope she doesn't give up.

She said 'I didnt choose this song' so to go on and say "Apparently it was somebody else's decision and not mine" would be pretty much saying the same thing twice.

The audience clapped very quickly after she said it though, it seemed like an instant reaction so they're very convincing seat fillers if that's the case - I doubt it.

It's so unfair that this happens but we all know from past series that this is the case. I remember the pair of Scouse boys who sang and played guitar had a much more prolonged rant in the same situation on the same subject. I saw one of them stacking shelves again in my local Tesco after that (got a picture with him ) which kind of told me what the consequences were. Wish I'd asked him about it.

I think there are other cases of this this series, too. I doubt Gay and Alan would have chosen Phantom of the Opera and Paul's very bad medley seemed too different to his audition to be his choice.

Was that Per Diem? I just posted a link to that in another thread, apparently they were told to swap roles - so the guy who normally played guitar was told to do lead vocals and the other one was made to play the guitar. I did feel sorry for them. There's probably been at least one act per series now that has come forward and said they were forced into doing something they didnt want to - and then critcised for those same 'choices'.
Agree, about Paul, didnt seem likely he would have choosen that medley, plus backing track, and then Simon criticises those things
