Ok... Not long now :O

But now, I am worried that when I watch it I will just be waiting to find out who River is or waiting for the throwaway lines, rather than truly enjoy it

But time shall tell

What do you think? Will you enjoy it to the max or spend your time over studying things like I probably will?

I'll be the exact same don't worry!

I plan to rewatch it the same night though

From the previews I've read it sounds like its more of a full on rip roaring adventure type episode and not very timey wimey so best just to kick back and enjoy the ride.

Whew. Not that I don't love timey wimey episodes (they're my favourite), but there's going to be enough of a headache in this forum concerning River Song without adding timey wimey complaints as well!

I really can't wait. I'll enjoy it. We've got months to let all the clues and questions and theories seep back into our brains.

I'll sit back Saturday night, the home bar will open early, and enjoy the ride.

I'll re-watch it again on iPlayer on Sunday, after been on here, to see the bits and pieces...

I wonder if the "throwaway line" that is referred to is the "No ducks in the duck pond" from series 5? a long shot but still......

Okay, just relax and breathe. When the line comes up, you'll be aware of it. No need to work yourself up trying to guess it. It'll be more fun if you don't know what's coming...

I thought the throwaway line was Amy's "he must be a clone or something" (paraphrasing) which is funny when you consider her.

e: Just saw SFX's "A throwaway line from last season becomes a major plot device". Scrap that one then!

I'll do what I do with every episode. Watch it 'live' and enjoy it to the max without over-analysing it. I honestly can't understand why people would spoil their viewing by trying to pick out every detail straight away!

However, I'll also be recording it to watch again so I can then look for any intriguing clues and things

I'll watch it as it is to enjoy it, then watch it again with the previous 6 episodes from this series to see how it all adds up

Plenty of time this summer to rewatch the shenanigans of the Christmas Ep, Space/Time and Eps 1-7 and all the Confidentials again before Eps 8-13 and their Confidentials come along. Lovely word, shenanigans!

Oh and Series 4 River eps. the last Doc 10 eps and Series 5

If I'm going on holiday, I like to know what to expect and what to look out for, so I can appreciate everything I can about what I'm going to see. But I won't pore over every possible image of the place, and read every possible account of what the place is like - because otherwise, what's the point in going?

I see it more like music. As a musician, I can listen to music in different ways. I can simply enjoy the performance, I can appreciate the compositional or technical skills of the artist, I can enjoy the atmosphere of the concert or I can analyse it and see if I can pick out aspects of the music - maybe to play them myself and maybe to widen my understanding the art. Not everyone will want or need all of those elements - some will only listen to the performance and not care why it sounds that way - and others will dislike the sound but appreciate the technical skills of the performer.

I wouldn't say someone is wrong for getting pleasure out of music just because they don't get it the same way as me.

In terms of recent DW series, they are meant to be poured over - that's why they have these mysteries and clues. Many people won't even notice them and some that do simply wan't want to work them out but those that do are only doing what is intrinsincly part of the show.

I don't doubt that there are some people who watch and they are trying to work out how a particular special effect was done- because that's their personal area of interest. It doesn't mean that they don't or can't also enjoy the story.

How about the 1482 reference in TIA - the Doctor said it was full of glitches?

Under the Byzantine calendar, 1482 is 6991 - or 1996 backwards - and 1996 is the year the Doctor met Amelia - twice.

That's a completely different approach, because you analyse and dissect either as you watch/listen, or after. Trying to guess the content of songs on an album before it's been released is madness.

Don't know about throwaway lines, but has anyone else noticed the red balloons dotted throughout series 5 and 6? One you see one you can't help but notice everytime one crops up in the background.

I remember seeing one at the end of almost people, I think it was with the guy and his son at the end, but before that I'd seen quite a few others.

Nice observation about the balloons. This is from the teasers, so not really a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway in case.

Spoiler
Theres a line about balloons in the DS teasers

"They don't put up a balloon or anything!"

Any relation? (Sorry if it's been mentioned)

i don't know why we're discussing this but I think the most significant line is: "Tell the Doctor that the only water in the forest is in the River".

I'm with you on this one... like Sue_Aitch says, Daughter of mine has one; the Pond wedding is full of red balloons (an unusual colour for weddings!).. there's definitely been others now you mention it.
