New format I'd like for the Semi Finals...

This series it is a given we have literally no variety in the final that we could have had with Nathan Wyburn had he been good and had the judges put Joe and David and Karen through so instead of always having just musical acts and dancers in the final how about they just stick all the singers on one day, all the dancers the next and then your variety acts the next day...

That way the final would be full of variety and you wouldn't just have singing children and dancers in the final.

Good idea but i'd prefer no singers whatsoever.

I'd been thinking about that, and i think it the best format they could do it. I'am soo sick of singers, and it really annoys me that people like Jai dont just go on the x factor

Actually really good idea OP, only flaw I can see in it is that I bet some people (judging by how seriously they take it) would then complain that the semi-finals had no variety

Interesting concept though.

Good idea, but how would you split the acts? Singers and dancers are easy, but the rest are harder to place in a genre. This is the best i could come up with...

Singers
Dancers
Musicians
Cabaret
Novelty

Actually, Jai did go on X Factor. He got to bootcamp.

The only problem is, someone like Susan Boyle would never be suited to the X Factor. There are definitely too many people on BGT who would be better on something like the X Factor though. Just look at Jai and Jay. Both have good voices, in Jai's case a great voice, but whereas I think they both made it to X Factor bootcamp (correct me if I'm wrong here), Jay got to the semis and Jai's in the final! The public seem to prefer singers over other types of act, but it just takes places away from other deserving performers!

A young pop singer
A boyband
A keyboardist
A pianist
A novelty dancer
A proper dancer
An operatic singer
An impressionist

I'd argue that we have a lot of variety in the final. I suppose you could split it into 'musicians (2)', 'dancers (2)', 'singers (3)' and 'comedian (1)', but even that is a fair bit of variety! I don't understand the problem, what more were you expecting?
