Take a look at Richer Sounds before parting with cash, especially with Comet(not always the best and sometimes vastly overpriced).

especially with Comet about to go bump, did you mean?
I should also mention that all-in-one surround systems are not always the best choice to go with. I've only ever had a seperates system from Richer which has never let me down. |

If I was looking for a 3-400 quid system then I would try something like this
http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ky-hts3405-blk with http://www.richersounds.com/product/...0/sony-bdps370 A very capable proper grown ups AV receiver and speaker package and a pretty decent Blu-Ray player to go with it. Richersounds seem to be hiding the price of the Onkyo system now, last time I looked it was around the £300-350 mark. The big advantage over all in ones is connectivity. If you want to hook up lots of extra kit such as a Sky box and games console(s) most all in ones are very limited in that regard. So you might have three or so items to connect up but only one socket for them all! The Onkyo amp on the other hand should have more than enough sockets for your additional kit. Plus if the Blu-Ray goes dead for example you can get it fixed or buy a new one without losing the ability to play other stuff through the amp in the meantime. With an all in one if one bit goes wrong you lose the whole lot when getting it fixed or have to replace the whole thing, even the bits that are working perfectly, if it can't be fixed. |

Do not go anywhere near those all in one systems. especially from the likes of comet.
look at these http://www.richersounds.com/products...ker-packages/2 see what you like. Then go for something like this http://www.richersounds.com/product/.../sony-strdh810 |
