The filling of the semi finals with dross to ensure the "right" acts go through, the same thing happening for the final. I mean last night we saw an old man dancing badly, a woman taking her dogs for a walk on stage and someone lighting candles - FFS?”

And a girl (not one of the favourites naturally) breaking down in tears becuase she was forced by the producers to sing a song she didn't want to.

Strange that : it's a variety show and I'd love to know why one of the singing acts is being given an unsuitable song.....her original choice could hardly have clashed with anything else on the show.

This is an example of why the laes of the UK are being abused. It seems anyone with power and money can bend their rules to their own advantage and pass this injunctions and involve the police.

We are becoming like Russia or China with all this....I can see something happening that will stop this - I think if Ronan does win, it'll not only kill BGT, it will kill X-Factor.

Oh stop being so Dramatic. it won't kill off BGT Becuase it's not true. I think the public are scane enough to realise this.

The thing is, why sue and get the police involved?

I think Mr Cowell has a lot to hide.....

Well if i owned a two big shows like his and somebody on the internet posted untrue rumors like these i would want to sue and get the Police involved. Plus there was somebody on twitter and i would bet this was the same person who wrote the article who said some terrible things about the boy and his family.

Also another thing. Cowell has shows he owns all across the world. Do you really think he would do something like this and risk loseing everything.

The funny think about the thread you mention, is who that guy said he was a part of.

IF (and its a big IF) that guy IS part of that group and that group did do this for lulz, I wouldn't want to be Simon making legal threats right now.

They would see it as a massive invitation to bring it on.

Well he's hardly gonna admit it, is he? Woe betide the leaker when he finds out who it is. He'll probably have them murdered.

Shouldn't it be the Police wanting to talk to Cowell rather than him wanting to talk to them.

There are many questions needing investigating rather than just taking his word for it.

Doubt it and like I said a post or two ago, if it is Anonymous as has been alluded too in a few places nothing will come of this.

If they can bring down the Australian governments websites without any repercussions I doubt Syco are of any concern to them.

If its just some knobhead fantasist then he/she will just be sued; have to pay damages and blah blah.

Ronan probably will be 2nd, don't think any of the other kids will win though.

might be that opera singer from last night or orange hoody guy

I really, really want it to be orange hoody guy!!!! Not sure he'll get through though now that Michael is on the scene again.

I reckon Ronan will finish 2nd or 3rd.

Viewing figures you mean.I think alot of people watch in sort of a disbelief on how bad it is getting - they watch it out of curiuosity alone. This curiousity thing also was evident with Big Brother. That fell of a cliff eventually though.

he could quite easily lose his shows in the uk if its proven to be exploitative and crooked. ITV would be forced to either lose the show or dramatically change it.

The british public are still quite naive to how much reality tv is scripted and moulded to fit a dramatic narrative.

But stuff like this is pretty common in the states. you only need to see how many writers there are on a "reality" tv show in the states to see where the influence is coming from.

So his US programmes would be quite safe

Big Brother is different. Big Brother is not a family and talent show.

Its ridiculous for him to be a judge and then say to Jessica that "the production team let her down" well hes the executive producer and in charge of BGT, the production team is his team so HE let her down.

And if he let her down he should be apologising not humiliating her live on tv.

I think the hatred for Simon started with him making nasty comments on Popidol. But its slowly growing into a huge hatred and resentment for the whole manipulation of the tv audience and the exploitation of every single person who appears on the programme”

I agree with all this. All these stupid comments to people 'wrong song choice', 'bad dancers' etc seem ridiculous when you consider the acts are often told or 'advised' to do certain things and Simon is one of the ones who has a big say in what goes on. There have been numerous reports on this show by people that they have been screwed over by the show. A couple of acts have even been on here, but they cant say much as they are not meant to go to the press or forums etc. There's actually a long list of acts that claim their acts were purposely ruined to make good TV.

Simon leaving BGT or X factor wouldnt bother me, I'd prefer to see a fair competition which actually is up to the public -not manipulated in as many ways as possible. I'd love it if SYCOtv stopped producing this show as they have an agenda in promoting certain stars that can be then signed up to SYCOmusic.

Well that's one of his talents, bullying the viewers of his programmes. That's what they do in music industry anyway.

How do you know? None of us know the full story. I agree that it was probably just the producers abusing the power they have over the contestants to make her change her song, but as I said last night, it is also possible she had to change it because somebody else was using the same song. So, genuinely, because it "clashed with [something] else on the show."

Also, I know this sounds horrible and I'm going to get a load of backlash for it, but as my friend and I were saying watching the show last night - if the same thing had happened on X Factor, people would be saying that "if she wants to be an artist, she has to be able to sing songs other than her first choice." There are arguments like that every year on X Factor when acts complain that they've had to change their songs. If she can't cope with having to change her song - for whatever reason - then I dunno that she'd cope working in the music industry!

I liked her, but I didn't think she was overly amazing even at her first audition - I think a lot of people voted for her last night because of the judges' reaction and her "revelation" that she had to change her song... I was quite glad she didn't go through, actuallt: I thought there were much better acts there.

I know a lot of people moan about News of the World but some of their showbiz stuff is true. And to be honest i think this is true that it's a hoaxer.

Neither is BGT - a true talent show anyway. It's a get rich quick format for $yco .Are the freak acts all about the best in British talent or circus sideshows - think about it
God help us if we think this is what family entertainment is all about. Are we all turning into a nation of freaks ourselves - it would suit $yco down to the ground if we are
