Yes i agree with you about it not being a true talent show at the moment but it did feel like that in 2009 and they need to get it back that way.

I wouldn't believe the NOW as allegedly Max Clifford has an arrangement with them

To be honest, I think it's always been the same, just that we're all a bit older and a lot wiser now. Well, some of us are, anyway.

The police no.Ofcom should definately get involved if any of these stories are substantiated. If Mr Anon is a $yco insider (identity confirmed) & Cowell takes him to court there are things that may come out that Cowell himself may not want to be divulged to the public or Ofcom - they would have to do something about it then.
For this reason I cannot see this ever going to court - which is a problem for $yco.He can threaten to take it to court but would they actually go ahead with it.If he didn't take it to court he could be challenged by the police for time wasting.
Think this is very much a problem for $yco.If you don't play by the rules, you will always have your comeuppance eventually.Time is running out for Cowell & his shenanigans.Cowell has plenty of enenies who would be willing to put the boot in if called upon.

It could all be an excuse from Simon to get this kind of police involved

Well of course they'll deny it if they're being accused, if they admitted to such a fix Britains Got Talent would probably be no more and people would lose all respect, and they'd be in major trouble.

But I actually think it's more than likely, no proof of course, but it's pretty obvious he would be most successful out of all the contestants considering his age and appeal. I really hope not, I'd like a true variety act to win.

I am sure that Simon wants new bounce to win and their dramatic improvement since first audition is rather suspect. I think this roman story is to deflect from the truth behind new bounce support and possible coaching and will also hamper Romans chance of winning.

If it is a hoax, it has certainly got Simon hopping mad and some really bad publicity.

The biter bit, it certainly is giving him some comeuppance after his smug smarmy appearances this week.

Why 'so obviously fake'? I believed every word, because SC had always been manipulative and has always been determined to win no matter how. He disclaims responsibility for sacking folk ie. Kate Thornton and Louis , even denies knowing anything about it, and yet he is 'executive producer', nothing happens without his say-so. I'm glad someone has come forward to expose him - but it's nothing new, Leona Lewis had been ear marked for stardom by Simon's team before she entered XF.
Since the public voted Will Young the winner of Pop Idol instead of Simon's favourite, Gareth Gates, he has left nothing to chance - he decides the winner from the off.
What a waste of phone votes.

I think you make a good point, would not be surprised if they won now.

What I love about BGT is the variety of acts that it brings to our Tv screens. Once upon a time (many, many years ago......) one would have to go to the Variety Theatre for this type of entertainment, so I applaud it for that, but loathe all the manipulation involved.

What about his obvious Beiber styling and obvious elacution lessons to get rid of his accent. Sounds very Cowell-esque to me.. There's been lots of rumours on the web but this is the first one that touched a nerve.

I believe the article. Always known Syco was a sheep maker.

He Denied it. The Article was fall of rubish. First it says the contract was for life. at the bottom it says a 2 year contract. Which one is it life or 2 years.

It probably means that they have you for life - thus preventing you from signing wih anyone else, but with the option to drop you after 2 years.

Getting an injucntion and involving he police are two separate things, an injunction hushes something up , by going to the Police he has made it even more public , which tells me the author was lieing, for what reason we dont know , is it against Cowell ? is it against the contestant ? he was the bookies favourite , maybe the author wants the betting to go another way ? maybe he thought people would vote elsewhere in their droves leaving him an outsider to then place a bet and scoop a lot of money ? there could be a number of reasons but whatever it was the minute the person did this they left themselves open to legal action .

Cowell by going to the police has left himself open to have his contracts checked etc so this is obviously a lie and as much as I think he is a pillock in general I think he did the right thing for his name, the programme and the sake of the contestant

Then you I think are very mistaken, no way would he have gone to the police if there was an ounce of truth in it, if he lies to police having fixed a show he would be finished and facing fraud and deception charges

No it didn't. It said, "He's been signed to Syco for two years now." Totally different.

Though tomorrow's Independent are reporting there may not be a police investigation. On the face of it, this doesn't appear to be a criminal matter....at most, the blogger has probably libelled Cowell, but not broken any criminal law.

I don't think he should have gone to the police. His lawyers should investigate it & pursue it but the police should be left to catch real criminals.
I think it was more as a message to put people off continuing to post it or coming out with other allegations (contestants etc.)
There's also the adage, there's no such thing as bad publicity. He feels he's untouchable anyway so anything that keeps BGT front page is more than welcomed by him.

I could go either way on whether it was right or wrong - I haven't actually a great interest or opinion either,

But having read the article after someone put it in here a few days ago, all Cowell's defence seems to be is that he has never met him. Two things immediately struck me:

1) The article, as I recall never alleged that, it claimed someone from Syco saw him at a party & scouted him.

2) That part was hardly the core of the article, more an incidental bit of filler to it. The bigger issue was the alleged dressing and image issues concerning Ronan since the audition which has not been acknowledged anywhere, although that part of the article did appear more opinion than fact.

Also - having listened to an interview on 5 Live with Bryan Gunn, he dismissed the entire article as nonsense and was quite seething about it, but did admit that Ronan regularly sings at all family & friends parties to lots of people.

Wouldn't be beyond belief that he was scouted after that. Not sure there's much of a story there, if they did.

I suspect it is a hoax. The article states that the £100k would be paid back by the contestant as part of the recording contract. There is no guaranteed contract on BGT and the 100k is a cash prize which is won by the winner be they singers dancers or whatever. A Sony/Syco insider would know this, so this is a giveaway for me

Hmm, George Sampson, Diversity, Spelbound. Leon Jackson, Joe McElderry. All huge moneymakers that made it worth his while fixing a win for?

Don't get me wrong because I thought they were brilliant, but I did wonder if Pip and Puppy wre chosen by the judges over Michael because it would mean that another female got into the final aswell as Jean Martyn..
Otherwise I don't believe the show is fixed.
