TV changes aspect ratio when I switch something else on.
The picture goes off and then displays WIDE when it comes back. It's when I switch my charger or PS3 on. It doesn't always do it. It is a Panasonic Plasma.

Do you have the picture settings on 'auto'?

Panasonic tv will often go blank and display info when it changes from HD to sd and back again.
The PS3 will always be WIDE even if you've set it to display 4:3 dvd's correctly . The sidebars are generated by the PS3 so the image is still inside a WIDE 16:9 frame. Blank screen and info will appear also when changing from one input to another , usually if its HDMI to a non HDMI or vice versa |

The TV isn't connected to the PS3. The PS3 is upstairs

My Panasonic Plasma is also set to auto and displays either WIDE or 16:9 on Freeview itself via HDMI. (Humax HD PVR)
I have found the TV scales the picture better on this setting too for some strange reason. Especially when I have Over scan turned off. |

This is the problem...

I have a laptop charge, when I plug it in the picture goes blank. It comes back and says WIDE.
My PS3 (which is connected to the TV upstairs) causes the TV to do the same when it is switched on at the plug and there not even in the same room.
Thanks for your help so far... |
