I hadn't seen/heard him before last night and, I must admit, I was disappointed. I didn't like the dog act either, though.

Yep, he's overated.

Take away his story and he wouldn't of stood a chance. His voice was very off last night.

I think she would have been better off ditching the dog. As adorable as the dog is, she has a very good voice imo and if she had sung solo could have had a better chance.

Totally overrated : he's essentially a pub singer and a not very good one at that. He had his big chance last night and blew it (but unbelievably the judges lavished praise on him)

Totally agree with all of the above comments.

I've seen better than Michael C in my local pub tbh.

He seems like a really nice bloke though .

I agree. his voice was off-key a lot of the time (although I'll admit I liked its tone ) and I've seen so many people just like him playing in pubs etc. trying to get noticed.

I preferred Pip & Puppy, the act was unique and Pippa's voice was 1000x better

His voice is very grainy and dull. He could develop it in time with a few singing lessons and performance experience.

Seems a nice enough guy, but I thought that he was very average, and didn't deserve a place in the finals!

Let's face it, he's never going to be a Damien Rice or a David Gray. He's really just a run of the mill pub singer or street busker, who must be now bemused to be told by Cowell & Co. he's a "star".

Is very poor lives in acaravn with his pregnant fiancee. Wants to win to give them a better life. Semi final revelaed the child had now been born, more emphasis on wanting to give him a btter life.

I think he's alright. Has a nice voice. Would rather him than New Bounce.

Ronan and Jai do make him look very average though.

So he gets his girlfriend pregnant while they are living in a caravan, he pins his hopes on a music career - which would involve being away from home, travelling, PR, recording sessions etc.

That would be a great back story if he was a genuine undiscovered talent : instead we have a bloke with zero star quality and who sang flat as a pancake last night.

Yes very overrated - I couldn't believe the judges comments last night; They most be watching something else or it's all scripted to say he is wonderful no matter what he sounds like.

Also if Jai doesn't sing a song that everyone knows, then that's him out of the running as well. It's all very fine not being a sell-out and avoiding main stream male theatre classics, but he can do what he wants AFTER he has won. So far the two songs he has done are just not well known enough.

For the last time, he SANG A UK NUMBER 1 SONG!!

It that makes it "not well known" then you can officially call me flabberghasted.

I thought I was missing something when they were heaping praise on him. In my humble opinion he is nothing special at all.

His voice is okay, could be better but I was really underwhelmed by him and would have preferred Pip and Puppy to have gone through over him.

Nice enough voice, nothing spectacular, needs to work on his presence, was surprised when he came in the top three. Preferred him to Pip and the dog the dog was superfluous then she would have been the better of the two.

Overrated? It was Razy that won, no?

I think he's a good singer, better than Ronan at least.

Your last line sums him up. There is indeed nothing special about him at all, yet he just comes on stage, sings his song, no tricks, no dog, no nothing. He's Joe Average, but with a good voice.

I do like the immaturity of some members on this forum though. Oh, he's overweight, let's insist on calling him fat!

I think the people warmed up to him, because he comes across as silly and not very bright, like how he kept forgetting the name of the Royal Variety Show, yet when he sings, he sings great.

Seconded. I love his voice. It would also be nice to see a normal, off the street person win as opposed to stagestruck bratty kids. I think he's a better singer than the wannabe Jackson 4 put together.
