After this years shambles and allegations could this be the last we'll see of Britain's got Talent?
If no what would you do to improve the show if you could?

There are 2 years of a multi-million pound contract remaining with ITV. You do realise that everything you have seen these past weeks has all be manipulated to get front page news almost every day.

ITV + Syco + Tabloids = 10 million viewers every night.

It does appear tacky, amateurish, bloated, fixed, routine, but people in UK 2011 seem to love that kind of tv.

I'd happily see it axed.

A talent show needs to be about talent- there is far more to talent than singing children, but this show seems to totally be unaware of that.

No. Becuase it's not true. Plus the ratings are still great, They have also signed a contract that means it will be on till 2013. So no it's not the end of BGT.

I would be pleased to see it axed even though i know it isnt.
They had a chance to redeem it after the rubbish auditions, but they blew it, filling the final with boring, mediocre acts. Shows what awful production there is.
In my opinion, only 2 of them deserve to be there.

No. The ratings are still in their favour, so they'll keep it going and squeeze every penny they can out of the series.

There is nothing they can do really to improve the show. They need to find talent, but if is no talent then...what can they do?

they'll keep flogging this horse until its well and truly dead imo... there's at least another year they can get out of it.

I voted "couldn't care less" because I really couldn't care less, and I voted that way just to underline this couldn't care less attitude.

It's an ironic poll for sure, however an even better third option would have been "I don't take part in polls"

Oh! why do they stare!

me too, they peaked with subu & diversity, your never get another one, they were at the top of the slope that year, this year is seeing the slide down the other slide of that slippery slope and simon looks about as interested in it as we are. Its only the tweenies keeping the money rolling in.

The standard of talent this year has been abismal and even bringing in 2 fresh judges has not made up for the lack of talent being chosen and thats without all the media gossip and fix claims which is the only thing keeping the interest.

But people should not Compare that year to this year. If you do of course if will be crap because that was just a amazing final.

I don't think it's the end, but the standard of the talent in this years final is dire.

Existing contracts can always be updated/superseded. I think they were a bit short on talent this year (in comparison to previous years) so perhaps they could take a break for a couple of years.

Would be a bigger mistake to go on and possibly see their ratings plummet so low that the show is remembered as a national embarrassment. It's always a good idea to quit (or take a break) at the start of the slippery slope, not the end...

It'll start a bigger decline sooner rather than later.

They really need to start picking people with talent to go throught to the live semis. No more Popeye, stupid dog acts and any of the others that I have tried to blank out.

I have no idea why they pick some of the shit over genuinely talented people.

It's getting boring now. I wouldn't be bothered to see the back of it.

There should be questions asked about this show. MM said he voted for the act he thought was the best. Very big oops moment there. Simon had to correct him and say no you didn't. Michael then backtracked big time.

I think these shows need a rest or change.

I gave it a miss this year, so I sky plussed the final to see how decent the final acts were, not knowing anything about them. It was so dire. Not a star in there, I couldnt' believe how underwhelmed I was. I remember watching Diversity for the first time and being blown away, no-one in that final last night did anything for me at all.

I didn't think Diversity were even the best dance act in their year, never mind the best act overall. Clearly, neither did the judges or presenters as all but Amanda (who predicted Stavros Flatley) had predicted Flawless to win and Flawless, not Diversity, were seen as the threat to Susan Boyle, hence being drawn to perform first in the final.

Diversity have a great choreographer and a very good gimmick with the curly-haired kid they throw around (though I do wish they would bring the other kid into things more often) but even that's getting old hat and the boy is getting a bit big to be thrown around easily.

I don't know what the fuss was about over that or why Simon even said anything. Louis has never denied voting for his acts on XF. It's not illegal or against the rules of the competition. It's not as if they're organising mass votes and paying people to participate.

The very fact they put the Popeye through is the end in my book. WHAT DID THEY THINK HE COULD DO NEXT?

Utter rubbish

14.4 million people watched the final last night.

No, I can assure you it's not going to be scrapped any time soon.

Well I won't be watching next year, regardless of the hype.

I would hope the BBC will show some balls and put on something decent directly opposite BGT next time.

It's on its downward slide now.

Probably a year or 2 left though.

IMO Michael McIntyre may have saved this show and given it a year or two longer. Had it been the same old panel or Amanda, Louis, Hoff with Simon joining in the last week it would have bombed.
Samthefootball

It's so funny people saying it's the end it's only got 2 years left. It got 13 million guys that means the show won't go anywhere for quite a while.
