If ANYONE is getting a spin off, it needs to be our Sontaran friend. He genuinely made me laugh like a loony. But then again, I have a soft spot for Sontarans.

I really don't like Sontarans but he made me lol so much during that episode.

Like when the Doctor's Army takes over the asteroid and he approached Colonel Manton and when the Doctor has the Spitfires destroy the communications array the Colonel slumps a bit in which Strax then quips "Don't slump, it's bad for your spine".

I loved the "I'm a nurse" line as the Sontaran was dying. Turned the tables on Rory.

Isn't that one of Steven Moffatt's strengths? he can instantly create characters you feel for and like.

Take just about any of the characters in "Blink" (we have a great affection for the young Billy Shipton), or Nancy and Dr Constantine in "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances", for example.
