As I was a complete fool and didnt watch till after the credits, I have no idea what this clip was about... all I heard about was a "skeleton hand with a sonic"

What does the clip show/ say?

And is there any way to actually see this clip?

Just had a random thought, what if it was the real doctor that died on the beach and that skeleton hand with the sonic was him putting himself inside it and time is running out because they have to get to it in a certain time. Or it could just be a teaser to say don't forget about the doctors death.

Judging by what I've heard, this seems more likely

After all, we all thought the "Good Man" going to war was The Doctor, and it was not... perhaps this will be the same?

Hate to rain your your collective parades - but you're all getting excited about a smoking skeletal hand (presumably the Doctors) holding a Sonic, as if it's something we'll see in future episodes.

Surely this would be the logical follow-on for the scene in 'The Impossible Astronaut', when they set fire to the Doctors Body?

ie: Set fire to the Doctors Body - what are you left with? A smoking skeleton.

No, its something else completely! The hand has been holding the sonic when it becomes a skeleton, that is certainly how it is set up for the shot anyway!

Who says they didn't place his Sonic in his hands, before setting him alight? In the absence of flowers, I'd have thought that would be the obvious symbolic gesture?

The Doctor was set alite on a boat, floating out into the middle of the lake, he was laying on the boat with his hands either by his side, or on his chest.

How would that have ended up as an outstretched hand (I could see no other bones) holding a sonic screwdriver that had just been used (as the power was fading on it!) and all this resting on gravel?

The canoe (on which the Doctors body is set alight - his sonic placed in one hand) drifts ashore on the opposite side of the lake. The Doctors smoking skeleton tumbles off the pire onto the rocky foreshore.

Or to phrase it in a way which appeases the nerd gods... 'Drifty-wifty, Tumbly Wumbly'.

I really dont think so but it looked quite plausable because he did have a sonic. I think its just maybe to say somethings remaind

BTW i dont actually know its a theory but I think theories shoud be spoilered! The amount of people who speculated on the river's identity without spoilering actually took away from the reveal for me. Don't worry learnt my lesson and will be keeping away from the forum when the series returns in the winter!
