I hope he gets his own manager, completely unrelated to Simon Cowell or any of the others - goes into musicals and has a great career - sticking two fingers up to Simon, etc. in the process!!

Simon was relatively supportive of Jai on BGMT saying that the type of music he does is very marketable and obviously popular. But, yes, I think Jai would be better off signing with somebody else - not many people win with Simon, its not worth signing your life away to the devil.
When you look at how successful someone like Michael Ball is, it's clear he could do very well on his own.
It annoys me that Simon Cowell acts like he's taking over the world now!

Aren't all Cowell-produced reality show contestants signed exclusively to him for 6 months? I remember reading that somewhere that he's got a six month option written into the contract. A perfect amount of time, so that if he doesn't want them, their fame has dissipated and nobody else can make a shiny penny out of them.
And if Jai does decide to stick two fingers up at Cowell, by the time his exclusivity deal has run out, everyone on this forum will be deciding which new X-Factor contestant we want to win...

That is the case for X factor, but am not sure about BGT. Faryl turned down a contract with Cowell etc as her parents werent happy with contracts, they felt another record company met with everything they wanted so they went that way. I respect that, they didnt sign their childs life away for the sake of money and held out for the better option

That may just be saving face. The show ended in May, and she signed her contract in December. I doubt the parents would come out and say "No, Simon didn't want her, only the chubby choir boy." Simon wants quick money, not to have to develop an artist, which was what Faryl needed.

Jai has a good voice but I think he lacks stage persona. I've just seen Michael Ball in Hairspray and it takes YEARS to get as good as that.
Having said that, Jai has the voice for musicals, not sure about the other qualities needed.

I agree with you. I could see him in Les Mis, he's got the look for it. No-one can really tell if someone's got the stage persona until they've tried, but it takes real guts, as an unknown singer, to get out there and sing in front of all these people.

you seem to forget that he has just sung in front of millions, Live.
of course he has stage persona .he would'nt have won if he didn't connect in some way with the viewing audience.
He just needs to prove that he can act (learn to act) get more experience and then his career will have longevity
