Favorite New Character?
If a mod could make this a poll, it would be greatly appreciated!
Anyway, my question is this: What was your favorite new/fairly new character in AGMGTW? Personally, I loved the Sontaran nurse. The friendly way he casually told people he hoped to meet them in battle and kill them made me laugh. I also liked the Silurian and her maid though... Heres your choices >Commander Strax >Fat One >Thin One >Lorna Bucket >Jenny >Madame Vastra >Dorium Maldovar >The Averys >Captain Harcourt >Madame Kovarian. Sorry if I have forgotten any! |

Lorna Bucket.
Shame they killed her off, would have made a good companion from what we saw.

Madame Vastra was wonderful, I love the idea of a fun, likeable Silurian and it really worked.
Strax, Maldovar and Kovarian were also great. I also enjoyed the character of Lorna but I ws quite distracted by her for the first half of the episode as I was convinced she was played by Ellen Page! My TV guide set me straight when I relented and checked. Anyone else think she looked like her?

![]() *demonstrates long tongue* *Jenny gives her a look to say: "THAT'S why!"* That must surely count as one of the subtlest yet filthiest jokes in the history of the programme! |

Another vote for Madame Vastra here
![]() It beats me why the Doctor should mess around with soppy human companions when he could team up with the mean green tongue machine and let her despatch the baddies without him having to bother to get his screwdriver out Wise up Doc!

Strax for me - he had all the best lines and a great delivery. Vastra/Jenny combo a close second, though.

I had to choose between Madam Vastra and Madam Kavorian.
Hero or villain, both were fab... But Kavorian edged in. |

The Averys for me. Despite the bad episode, I really like the characters. But Victorian Lesbian Silurian is also awesome.
![]() Would have been Dorium, but he died.

Commander Strax: His comedic self-loathing was a joy to witness.
He was like newly-human Anya (from Buffy) in Potato form. Genius! I *so* hope we'll be seeing him again. |

I loved the idea of Madame Vastra. One handy perception filter ( For when she's out and about , plus to spare the actress playing her.) and you've got a great spin off series.
