~I think it's pretty disgusting - speculating about a 12 year olds sexuality is pretty weird. I didnt want him to win and am very cynical about Cowell/SYCO pushing him to be the winner but I think some of the comments about him are way below the belt.

School playground stuff.

Mature adults wouldn't speculate about a pre-pubescent boy.

I don't think there's a need to keep going on about it. He's a child. He probably doesn't know it himself yet. It has no bearing on his singing voice.

I'd say 'Spot on'

my son said he was " gay" i said to my son ... when you was his age you could sit on your hair, you helped out all the Singers in the pub karaoke and sang the high notes to "take on me.".. you even got up and sang "on my own" from les mis.. and other girls songs .... are you gay? ... he shut up then! he is 18 now... and not gay ... wish he was , he would have better dress sense and his room would be tidy lol

My teens have both told me that Ronan is gay - Hoy the heck they know is beyond me?
Do they know him? Does my son remember how at 12 he was the only lad in his ballet class & how he didn't care that some "stupid kids at school" said he was gay?

Ronan, is maturing, working out who he is & finding his own style. Time to ignore idiotic comments about his sexuality. Im sure he'll work out his preference when hes older & in his own.

Remember he has an amazing talent & the rest is none of our business. No doubt Simon has plans for this young man & I can only hope he's well looked after.

He sets my gaydar off not because of what he does but his mannerisms while he's doing it. now I'm not saying he even knows he's gay or what being gay even really means yet but I met my best friend when we were 10 and I knew then he was different to other boys and he's gay. I'm just saying you can sometimes tell even at a young age someones sexuality, even if they don't know it themselves.

You can tell by alot of little things, his stance, his mannerisms, and his fashion sense. Of course you can't come to conclusions with something like this but it's pretty obvious...

Not that it matters, if someone is to criticize him over it then it's bad but other than that, if you just point it out, who cares...

Well my initial judgement on him was bad fashion (blame the mom) very camp very effeminate he will probably be hay later on in life

Oh then I thought he ain't a bad singer

...who cares - they are right - but who cares? end. To deny it is to make it ...

And to be fair not sure if he is gay real possibility he could be trans later (that is NOT gay in their or my mind) and then loop back to the start...

Right from his first audition I thought he showed signs - the give away was the way he stands with his hands down - just like Sean in Corrie!

Ronan looked like a big sissy on his first two appearances. But last night he was like an ordinary lad.

He'd dumped the flamboyant attire and his hair was okay, too.

Yes, he was still slightly affected, but was very polite in defeat. His parents should be proud.

Exactly.

Also, don't forget, that he is a real person, and might even read this forum, so how do you think he would feel about himself reading threads like this?? (or his parents for that matter)

All kids sound camp to me, it means nothing.

Also, the other factor here, he is only 12, so one of the first kids to grow up in a 'metrosexual' society.

Not sure about gay but wouldn't he make a pretty girl? He has the mannerisms, gestures etc down to a tee

I can't believe this is even being discussed (on here or anywhere else)! It makes me very sad that, even in this day & age, people are being judged on their sexuality. He's a 12 year old boy for crying out loud - who gives a **** what his preferences are or will be? What does it matter? Poor boy has been hung drawn & quartered before he even hits puberty! Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I think it shows just how low people can sink, he is a 12 year old child for goodness sakes. Most of us watched him and were thinking about his singing not his sexual preference at his age.
