Exactly. It's frankly weird and creepy to discuss a child's sexuality-- as if it matters one whit. All this nonsense about "setting of gaydar" (gaydar is not real) and other stuff is just pathetic. Judge him on his talent and discuss that.

I've never heard anyone say it apart from on here.

He could surprise us all and end up looking and acting like Phil Mitchell in ten years time.

And I totally agree.

I think it's pretty pathetic and frankly weird that grown adults are coming onto a forum and speculating on the sexuality of a 12 year old.

They must have very sad lives if that's occupying their minds.

It isn't his dress sense; it's his feminine manerisms and the way he stands. I think he is, but it doesn't really matter.

To add to my previous post, the way he handled being runner-up was lovely. He showed much more maturity than could be expected of a 12 year old, and he was more mature and gracious than some of the others, not just in the final but in the whole competition.

He seemed okay to me last night. He was more of a boy. He'd got rid of the sissy mannerisms and clothing.

I don't think he's gay, he's just a nice person and friendly. He also seems intelligent.

i think people commentating on his sexuality is disgusting.

I mean even if he was 18 it would still be none of anyones business.

Urgh i find it quite weird and creepy that a bunch of grownups have nothing better to do then speculate over whether a 12 year old will **** a boy or a girl in the future, no doubt when he's 16 or upwards he will be barely remembered so who cares? & Just how would you feel if a bunch of people were discussing your childs sexuality on the internet. Bit weird.

Me neither, but for some reason, that doesn't really surprise me.

What DOES surprise me, in this supposedly enlightened age, is that someone's sexuality should be of any more interest than their hair colour.

What a sad and creepy thread this is. That a bunch of so called adults see fit to even speculate about the sexuality of a twelve year old says more about them than it does about him

Whats his ages got to do with anything?

Hes 12? well there are 12 year olds behind bars, 12 year old having kids, 12 year old drinking and smoking.

So now his age has been shown to mean nothing ( if hes old enough to do this show and all that ) to the matter in hand.

Who cares. All that matters is for the next 12 months this awful Bieber wannabe is going to be rammed down our necks. Sickening.

I really don't care it is his life and he should be able to live it without prejudice and certain people acting so rudely... yes I knew I was 'gay' when I was 12 but he might just be feminine and if he is gay then we really shouldn't be so judgemental and just let him get one with his life.

I'm just saying you can sometimes tell even at a young age someones sexuality, even if they don't know it themselves.”

Not really bothered whether he is or not but he does remind me of that child antiques lad that became a woman

Quite frankly the win would have been nice for him but he is Cowell's favourite and Syco will get behind him in a way they will never support the winner so he had much to be smug about

My opinion also.

It's uncomfortable hearing people speculate as he is 12 years old.

I thought from the word go that he was gay. My Son won't believe me that Ronan is a boy.

I appreciate that there are some camp people out there who are not gay, or they say they are not gay, but that's still my first and so far lasting impression of the boy.

Particularly dodgy when gay men do it as it can help reinforce some negative stereotypes.

I agree.

My take on it and it's just a hunch is that he was actually relieved to come 2nd.

On the basis of the performances, I think it was also the correct result - I think Ronan did not sing quite as well as on the other two occassions and did not hit a few of the notes (although he was still amazing for a 12 year-old kid in a nationally broadcast TV show).

For the first time, in the whole process, he acted as if the pressure was OFF.

To thank the voters and to congratulate Jai - he's a class act a lovely boy, his parents can be very proud of him and I wish him well as he grows up.

PS Great to see Dec give him a cuddle too. Ant and Dec are also a class act and seriously good guys.

Agreed, it really hits a low note for me that people are discussing a child's sexuality in this way. It's no business of anyone else.
