I agree there is lots of potential for them both, I think it is more likely that Marc will want to move on before Johnny does though.Whatever and whenever I only hope when they do leave it will be their choice and not as a result of an on screen break up. If they have to go I would like it to be as TM Denise said to get away from Z&M to bring up their kids.

At least they could then come back for some specials then!

I think I've mentally prepared myself for the inevibility of Johnny and Marc leaving. I don't see either of them being the type to stay there for years and years, and I actually don't think I'd want them to either If they were to stay for many more years then I would worry about TPTB ruining their story and their relationship, so I think it would be best if they left on a high and before their story has the chance to be ruined

I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced either this year or next that Johnny's leaving I can't see him wanting to stay beyond 2013 to be honest

But I don't really mind. What I would find absolutely gutting though is if one leaves and the other stays I just really want them to both leave together so hopefully when that time comes, both Johnny and Marc will decide the time is right to move on at the same time!

In general the job of a presenter is to smile and be as boring and unoffensive as possible, so it's not really what I want for him. Bits of Johnny always shine through, which is why it's nice to watch him on the lotto, etc. but it's going to be difficult for him calling out numbers and pressing a button (no matter how good he looks when he does it:sleep to hold my interest forever.


I'm sure Marc'll get roles in dramas and that afterwards- but he still will if he hangs on in EE for another two years! He's got plenty of time for that, and to return to theatre.

OTR was fun, and it was great to see JP's experience with musical theatre, but I still preferred to see him on EE. I think it's because I'm more interested in the characters than the actors I love that they seem to be such great guys, and get along well, but it was Christian and Syed that got me into this whole thing

Yeah, very true! I mean just look at the trouble Danny Miller causes with his twitter, he doesn't do Emmerdale or ITV any favours at all!

Not that Johnny would be like that though! But you know how the press can take tweet's and twist them, and they've already misquoted so many of Johnny's interviews!

BIB: This. I'm here for Christian and Syed. I really like Marc and Johnny and will always support them...but with them being on EE, the thread can discuss them, their characters, the storyline etc. Presenting and doing stuff like OTR is a nice little bonus, but I much prefer seeing them in stuff relating to EE.

I think the BBC has allowed Johnny to spread his wings by allowing him to take on some presenting and the panto. They want to keep him in EE, I'm sure and thus is being more flexible. This may indicate he signed a new contract with them that included these provisions. He and Marc obviously enjoy working on EE and in the current climate other acting jobs are not that plentiful. If a play came up for either of them the BBC could give them time off to do it as they did with June Brown for Calendar Girls We don't know how long they will stay.Let's be positive

Well what ever happens, Christian and Syed will go down as one of the most memorable and well loved couples in its era. They're very similar to the kind of fanbase that Sharon/Dennis had in its time. Except we're luckier because Chryed have come at a time when the show and storytelling was/is genuinely stronger so they won't be seen as the couple among all the dross. They're a very strong pair and IMO the best and most successful gay couple that the show has produced. I know that sounds biased but I can't think of another gay couple who had a following and natual chemistry as Marc and Johnny in EastEnders. Like I said before, they've set the bar.

I'm a musical fan as my mum took me to so many musicals when I was little but I wouldn't have the money to go and see Johnny and Marc in every production they were in, especially if they were expensive London ones. I'd much, much prefer to see them on TV, and EE is ideal for that as it's on so often that we know if we sit tight and wait, they will eventually be on it. If they leave then... who knows?

The idea that when either Johnny or Marc go, Christian and Syed will permanently cease to be devastates me. I'll always keep an eye out for them and what they're doing next, but that golden formula can only ever exist in EE. No matter how much I like what they do afterwards, even if they ended up crossing paths again, there'd never be another Chryed. ugh... damn.

Yep..in fact, you could say, the BBC are more likely to increase the chances of him staying by allowing him to do other stuff outside of EE. Johnny is smart. The BBC offer him regular work...they even allow him on a rival channel to review newspapers..I don't see how he could get a better opportunity anywhere else.

Ally Wadia did tweet a while ago that she asked Nina to get twitter but was told that EE cast members aren't allowed to get twitter... and I do remember that Jacqueline Jossa had twitter when she first joined EE but it very quickly disappeared I think it is probably that cast members can't have twitter, and if they do then they can't tweet very much.

No need for when people say that they prefer to watch JP in EE than presenting. This is the Chryed thread, not JP appreciation - no matter how much you love him, I'd be amazed if anyone preferred him on the Lotto than EE! Though during surrogacy...

There won't be. I'll continue on keeping up to date with what Johnny and Marc are doing next but Christian and Syed are what I fell in love with and thier natural chemistry on screen every week of the year can't ever be replaced.

Anyway we still have them, lots of them! So lets not cross that bridge until we absolutly have to. *speaks the person who said she had a strong feeling Johnny was to bow out next year*
