I agree with this...but I think they probably do...aren't Shane, Steve and Johnny all doing panto this year? And Jo did Candy Cabs, and of course, June did Calender Girls. And Nitin and Nina have done a few things outside of EE as well. I imagine for the more established actors it is written into their contracts.

See that's why they have to go together. If we don't get to see them, then at least we can imagine they are off together happy somewhere /pathetic

That's where soaps have an advantage...they spoil us with ongoing episodes all year round unlike a film or drama which has a definite end point. We get used to them potentially being on our screens every week. Though at least with a film/drama we'd have the luxury of rewatching on dvds. Thank goodness for youtube

He literally has it all, I don't know why you'd give that up - unless the greatest rival offer of all time came along. He's not an 'actor' by trade either so it's not like he'd be leaving for drama or straight theatre like Marc would, most likely. Musicals, entertainment, the character of Christian - that's where his heart seems to sit. If the BBC let him have it all, I'd continue to bite their hand off if I was him!

Also I think if Johnny was leaving this year we'd know by now. As people have said before several cast members are being allowed to do panto this year.

Agree with this. Otherwise everyone would be wanting time off to do other things and we know that this isn't the case! Although they do seem to be more relaxed about people taking time off these days, it wasn't always like this. I think it's good though, especially for someone like Johnny who is more of a performer/entertainer than anything else so has his fingers in lots of other pie's!

I just can't stop thinking about Tam telling Zainab they were going to be part of the wedding party (or correct equivalent name). They have matching outfits - his was planned, not spur of the moment. Obviously they will be fairly backgroud in these eps, but I hope this is at least mentioned.

Because it's Tamwar's mendhi. All the guys and girls (even non Muslim one's) were dressed traditionally for Syed's mendhi too.....I think maybe it's a sign of respect for the Masood's culture?
