I noticed them when I saw the trailer last week, but didn't dare mention Omega for fear of being forum-bashed.

Perhaps there is some cult trying to set about bringing back the Time Lords - and Melody was key to all of that.

I was thinking along those lines. That Melody is weapon created by the timelords to fight against the doctor and that omega is behind it

TBH the idea of Omega being behind everything doesn't make much sense to me because they only want Melody because she's part Time Lord. Why would an actual, full Time Lord need her?

Just noticed that right at the start, when Amy first picks up Melody, on the glass that has her name on it, there's symbols underneath, the first one is Omega. Not the one with lines in it, actual Omega

I hope it is something like that.

When Madame Kovarian talked about "this endless bitter war" against the Doctor, that sounded like an epic statement and I want an epic colourful villain to be behind it all, not just a bunch of grumpy humans from the future who are cross with the Doctor because he looked at them funny.

I know The Silence are mixed up in it somewhere, but I am not sure I care about them very much yet because we have only met them once and they didn't do much.

In order to get himself back in reality perhaps? Access to the TARDIS itself .. maybe her being just half Time Lord she is vulnerable to attacks and also River Song knows about the Doctor's time line.

During the control room scene where Dr and Silurian discuss the baby's origins.

Look down the corridor. An octagonal corridor with exit/entrance door open.
All in the same proportions to the symbol.

Is it a symbol of a door opening ? Someone coming ? An advent ?

I am always amazed at the way out theories that are posted here, but I have to say this is one way out theory I could believe to be actually true because it could easily be presented to a new audience without a lot of explanation.

I'm not about to write about a long speculation post (well, I did but I bored myself so I deleted it) but three points did strike me. Omega must really hate the Doctor right now, he needs a Time Lord body and the word Omega, as has been pointed out, has religious connotations.

Mmm. Perhaps Omega is manipulating Madam Kovarion et al. so they think that they're making a Time Lord to fight the Doctor, when in fact he needs one to get himself out of that black hole or wherever he is.

omega is trapped in an antimatter universe he wants back into this one. he cant do it without a body to inhabit. he tried to steal the doctors in the book "infinity doctors". The doctor wouldn't let him get away with it twice or even a third time now i think of it. didnt peter davidsons doctor have this story line too.? Anyway what if rivers purpose is dual "A" kill the doctor so he's out of the way "B" unbeknownst to river she will also serve as vessel for omega, complete with rengenerative capabilities. A fully human body cannot cope with timelords mind - rememeber what happened to donna noble - but a human spliced with timelord DNA may well work
