I know I was like to my landlord
"So it looks like The Doctor kidnapped Stevie Wonder and took him to 1814."
The only thing is it didnt hit me until after the episode that Stevie Wonder was blind. LOL

The Doctor getting a 20th Century musical act to perform in another century is nothing new.

In a Seventh Doctor novel called "Happy Endings", his 25th Century companion, Professor Bernice Summerfield (she's an archaeologist too!) meets a guy in the year 2010 and decides to get married.

She has often told the Doctor that she loves everything 20th Century, especially the music, and that the Isley Brothers are her favourite musical act. The Doctor takes the Tardis back to 1966 to a London hotel the Isley Brothers are staying in, and persuades them to perform at Bernice's wedding.

He takes them forward in time to 2010 and plays them a copy of their recording of "Summer Breeze", which they are not familiar with as they will not record until the seventies, so he asks them to learn it and perform it at the wedding, which they do.

Have you thought that it could have been a set-up line - an opening to allow them to have a celeb playing themself in some future episode - and singing their latest single in the show

You won't be laughing so much if that happens - unless they get a Dalek to exterminate Celine Dion then I'm definitely up for it

I completely missed the joke when I was watching it. Makes me feel like a complete idiot lol.

There were some really good lines and jokes in this episode though!

It's already been done. Decades ago in fact. A special film of the Beatles performing their chart topper "Ticket To Ride" was made specifically for inclusion in the First Doctor story "The Chase".

No, I thought it was a very funny line that made me laugh.

The idea that I would watch the program looking for any reason to be depressed and that on hearing that line I would instantly assume that N-Dubz would turn up singing in a couple of weeks seems a slightly odd one.

Oh, now I get it. I never thought about him being blind, I just thought River meant Rory must not tell The Doctor.
