Me personally, the only reason I would bring in Amy's mother is to facilitate Amy's exit. She wouldn't be missed! Emmerdale does not need yet another new cast member; it barely manages the ones it's got already.

That is exactly what I was thinking and no she wouldn't be missed, a pointless character with another sudden personality transplant who has become St. Orangina

Oh great, sorry to any Geordies out there, I need sub titles when she is on as her diction and mumbling is absolutely awful, the only thing I understand is man at the end of her sentences.

So if Ashley had 'ladled' Marlon - that would be ok?
Because Marlon isn't elderly?
I am getting worried about people's tendency on here to recommend violent solutions to problems.

If any does that again, I'll bash 'em with a ladle.

Heh heh heh, did you see what I did there?

I agree, Amy does mumble.
Val doesn't.

Wonder if Amy's Mum will have orange make up that only goes to her jawline as well?

Blimey there's an episode on tonight! That's two in a row!

I know the football is only on for a few weeks, but it does annoy me that the pundits get so much time to waffle before, during and after the actual games.
If they were given less screen time, the other programmes wouldn't be affected so much.
And do football fans really need a bunch of overpaid blokes talking about the game for them to enjoy watching the game? Really?

When's the tournament finish?

Due to popular demand from viewers happy to see Adrian Chiles patronise them and generally annoy, the tournament has been extended indefinitely .....

Seriously, it ends on 1 July and I think the worst of the disruption is over as the teams become fewer and thus fewer games.

Their last group game is tomorrow and they only need 1 point to go through to t'next round, and as the lovable Wayne is back tomorrow, that shouldn't be beyond them.

Is the Olympic torch going to Hotten?

Not that I'm interested in sport things really.
Just wondered.

Nice to hear in the Producer Interviews thread that Stuart Blackburn is going to soften down Ali Spencer a bit.
I'm so glad - because I want to like her, but the way she's always so angry and shouty and sullen is preventing me from being able to like her.

Also glad to hear that the older cast members are going to be featured soon - although he didn't mention Betty. The actress must still be having health problems. Get well soon Paula!

And as a person who tries SO hard to avoid spoilers because for me they DO spoil the enjoyment I get from trying to guess what will happen, I'm pleased to read that he will be keeping some of the stuff in the 40th Anniversary Live Episode a secret until it happens.

Tis the stock in trade thses days to chuck continuity into the long grass and characters to have personality transplants.

Imagine the ED producers let loose on Trumpton...

"Pugh, Pugh, Barney McSmith, Dave, Trevor and Susan..."

It's always a pleasure, Pickpuss.

And I think we would all love a passing, cobble-hopping T-Rex to tuck in.

Oh, should anyone consider the T-Rex eating Simon to be cruel then I can reassure them that the T-Rex suffered no ill effects after his snack.

'Tis the diction isn't it? Val announces her words a bit but at least for the uninitiated to the Geordie dialect she's easier to understand because of it. Her words are properly separated if that makes sense? Amy tends to mumble a bit and at times her words merge into one another. I know some peeps say they can understand her perfectly and that's admirable but even I, as a Geordie, sometimes have to concentrate when she's talking.
