There was mention of a throwaway line from a previous episode being suddenly important. I don't know about anyone else but I assumed the line in question was Amy's comment about her baby having a time head in DOTM.

That wasn't from a previous series, though. There were two predictions of lines becoming important later.

1) Karen said that two of her throwaway lines in the first episode of this series would later become important.

2) A line from a previous series would be brought further meaning.

It seems that two* of them were addressed in AGMGTW - the 'timehead' baby phrase from Amy, and the Headless Monks were mentioned in the beginning of the Angels two-parter (the Delirium Archive being their final resting place - confirmed by Confidential as being the same place as Demons Run).

*Although I take task with the 'timehead baby' line being throwaway - it was lampshaded with a conversation obout it. Had it been a real throwaway line, it would have been said and then ignored...

Talking of throwaway lines. Anyone else think that Rivers mention of 2 Drs on her Birthday is going to be significant in the future?

I cannot remember the exact words. It was when she was speaking to Rory when she broke back into Jail.. Something along the lines of there being 2 Drs for her birthday but that was another story...

Then I shall look forward to the episode with River and The Two Doctor's with the implications River clearly meant...

Erm no need to be snarky. Everyone is entitled to speculate. Not saying this is relevant. Just the fact throwaway lines of any sort may have relevance in the future... and a lot of events River has mentioned in conversation have been a feature of a future episode...

Well, you're somewhat right. When River talks about specific events in a matter-of-fact way, they sometimes appear on the screen. When she's saying things in a flirty-teasing way, they do not appear on the screen.

She was imp[lying sexual congress - if you think they would show that, then we don't watch the same show!

Also, not every single line of dialogue will be important later on in the series/SM's run... That is like saying that the Rani will be back constantly, or the new one: that every death is just a ganger...

Roughly

"But a Doctor from another point in time"
"Unless there's 2 of them"
"Now that's a whole different birthday..."

I did not get the sexual innuendo... but hey perhaps thats just me.

It is quite Plausable that River Song could be a charcter around for years, if not decades. The fact she can regenerate shows this. We already know that she has had many adventures with the Doc.

Therefore at some point it not beyond the realms of possibility there could be a story centered around this premise... I dont appreciate condesending remarks (Not necessarily off you) when we are talking about a Science Fiction show where ANYTHING is possible.

People are focussing on River's innuendo, when the real joke was the reference to a) the previous story, which did feature two Doctors, b) the opening story, in which two Doctors from different times appeared, and c) the hope that it's an alternate Doctor that's been killed.

The innuendo was quite heavy - it always is with her. Also, we have no idea whether or not she can regenerate. Where did you find that out?

I seriously did not ascertain anything sexual to that line.

I am guessing the girl at the end of DOTM is River Song.. hence the regeneration. I doubt that this would be another female timelord... Considering the whole of this series has so far been centered around Amy/Rory and River.

Was this the exact line as this reveals she is Melody Pond even at this stage?

They were talking about Demons Run during this conversation and a different birthday implys that this was her birthday also... See little snippets SM gives away during dialogue can me majorly relevant down the line.

By the time she'd said that she'd already told Rory it was her birthday

I took the line from last series as being when the Silurian is talking to the Doctor, she quotes back to him something he said to them. Can't remember it exactly but it was something along the lines of "Anger is the quickest shortcut to a mistake".

She wasn't in it last series. Well, it's the same actress but a different character. Vastra is from the 19th century. The previous Silurians were from the year 2020. The line she quoted back to him is from some unseen adventure.

I disagree. Rory had said 'Unless there were two of them'. I took River's remark to refer to the Doctor. When she said 'It's my birthday' she was confirming that she is melody Pond who has just been born.

Personally I don't care whether or not River is Amy and Rory's daughter. I'm far more interested in her relationship with the Doctor which still hasn't been fully explained. How does him reading her name on the side of his crib tell him that they're going to get kissy kissy in the future? And how does it come to be there in the first place?

These are not yet definite. We're being led to believe that this is the case, but until it's spelled out, it is only supposition on your parts.

When the Doctor was asked whether the little girl could regenerate, he couldn't answer it as he doesn't know. There is enough doubt there to say that any definite statements are tenuous.

Well... I just thought it was a dirty joke (if we have to spell it out, a sexy threesome involving River and two Doctors!)... but c'mon, after the ganger Doctor and the old half-human/Donna Doctor, it would be a touch over-done (although always fun to watch him interact with previous/future versions of himself)!

Agreed. There is nothing to suggest for definite that the little girl was River at all. It was heavily implied but never confirmed. It would just be Moffat to go and twist the whole thing by making the little girl not River and that the River storyline is seperate from storyline of the little girl.

No it's just that she'd had just got back from being with the Doctor (future Doctor) and was now going off to see the present Doctor.

2 Doctors 1 Birthday + a bit of cheek or wishful thinking on her part.
