Recently (well fo the last few months) my DVD player has sarted hissing on the audio.
Sometimes it's worse than others, occasionally making a DVD unwatchable. Other times it's bearable.
It depends on the DVD, but is always there (even on a VCD I made myself).
The problem seems to be a mixture of louder hiss and lower audio (meaning you have to turn the TV up making the hiss even worse.)
It comes out of all analogue audio 'sockets' (I don't have any digital equipment to test it with)
It didn't do this for the first couple of years of it's life.
Anyone got any ideas what it could be ?

ps it's a Wharfdale - when I bought it, it was the first decent cheap DVD and got rave reviews.
pps Sony WEGA iDTV - this doesn't hiss on any other source !
